Ein leichtes Motorrad kommt schnell zum Stehen, und es verändert ebenso schnell seine Haltung, wenn Sie es verlangen. An der MT-07 Moto Cage, einer eigens gestylten Version von Yamahas Reihenzweizylinder-Roadster, verlagert ein kräftiger Zug an der Vorderradbremse das Gewicht fast augenblicklich aufs Vorderrad, und das Heck wird leicht. Wie ruhig das geschieht, hängt vor allem vom ersten Teil des Hebelwegs ab. Der Accossato EDF016 ersetzt den originalen Bremshebel der Moto Cage, hier angeboten für 2015 und 2016, durch einen CNC-gefrästen Aluminiumhebel, dessen Abstand zum Griff Sie selbst festlegen.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossato fertigt den EDF016, indem es Aluminium auf CNC-Maschinen fräst, statt es zu gießen, und eloxiert den Hebel, sobald er seine endgültige Form hat. So entstehen zwei Farbtöne: eine schwarze Nabe, die Drehpunkt und Griffweiten-Einsteller aufnimmt, und ein Blatt in der Farbe Ihrer Wahl, vom zurückhaltenden Schwarz oder Silber bis zu Rot, Orange, Gold, Grün oder Blau. Das Eloxieren färbt die äußere Schicht des Metalls selbst, statt sie zu beschichten, sodass sich nach ein paar Saisons an den Kanten kein Lack lösen kann. Das Blatt hat kein Gelenk; von der Nabe bis zur Spitze ist es ein starres Stück.
Wenn das Heck leicht wird
Hartes Bremsen verlagert Gewicht nach vorn, und an einem kompakten, leichten Zweizylinder wie der MT-07 Moto Cage geschieht das im Handumdrehen. Die Gabel taucht ein, der Vorderreifen wird auf die Straße gepresst, und der Hinterreifen verliert einen Großteil seiner Last. Reißen Sie am Hebel, kommt all das in einem einzigen Stoß, und das Heck kann aus der Spur wandern oder sogar abheben. Ziehen Sie ihn dagegen gefühlvoll, setzt sich zuerst die Gabel, und die Bremskraft kann sich dann bis zu ihrer vollen Stärke aufbauen, während das Motorrad ruhig bleibt. Der Unterschied liegt in den Fingern, und Finger arbeiten präziser, wenn sie nicht nach dem Blatt suchen müssen. Ist die Griffweite so eingestellt, dass der Hebel unter den ersten Fingergelenken liegt, beginnt das Ziehen in dem Moment, in dem Sie sich zum Bremsen entscheiden. Das Standardblatt passt den meisten Fahrern; die lange Version, gefertigt in Blau, Gold, Grün und Orange, verteilt die Kraft auf vier Finger, was einen sanften Aufbau für alle erleichtert, die zwei Fingern noch nicht trauen.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato führt den EDF016 für die MT-07 Moto Cage unter der Versionsbezeichnung MT-07 700 Moto Cage; die Moto Cage wurde zum Modelljahr 2015 vorgestellt, daher deckt dieses Produkt 2015 und 2016 ab. Der Hebel tritt an die Stelle des Serienhebels am originalen Bremszylinder, sonst wird an der Bremse nichts verändert. Für die linke Seite desselben Motorrads nennt die Liste den Kupplungshebel ESY688 für dieselben Jahre, mit derselben schwarzen Nabe und Farbauswahl, falls beide zusammenpassen sollen. Straßenzulassung
Der EDF016 hat keine dokumentierte deutsche ABE. Er wird für den Einsatz auf abgesperrten Rennstrecken verkauft.
