Nur wenige Motorräder tragen eine Designgeschichte wie die der Katana. Die ursprüngliche GSX1100S Katana von 1981 mit ihrer scharfen Nase und der silbernen Verkleidung veränderte die Vorstellung davon, wie ein großes Sportmotorrad aussehen kann, und die GSX-S1000 Katana brachte diese Form auf Basis der GSX-S1000 zurück. An einem Motorrad, das man vor allem wegen seines Aussehens kauft, gehört selbst der Bremshebel zum Design. Der EDF035 von Accossato ist ein gefräster Aluminium-Bremshebel für die GSX-S1000 Katana, aufgeführt für 2020, mit einstellbarer Griffweite und sieben Blattfarben.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Eloxiertes Aluminium hat eine eigene Optik, einen seidigen Metallglanz, der weder lackiert noch poliert ist, und es fügt sich ganz natürlich neben die Metallic-Lackierung der Katana. Accossato fräst den EDF035 auf CNC-Maschinen aus Aluminium und eloxiert ihn anschließend, die Nabe immer schwarz und das Blatt in der Farbe Ihrer Wahl. Drehpunkt und Griffweiteneinsteller sitzen in der Nabe. Das Blatt ist ein einziges starres Stück, fest mit der Nabe verbunden statt über ein Gelenk angeschlagen.
Silber, Schwarz und das Original von 1981
Die erste Katana trug Silber, und Silber ist noch immer die Farbe, die die meisten vor Augen haben, wenn sie den Namen hören. An einer silbernen GSX-S1000 Katana trägt ein silbernes Blatt dieses Thema ins Cockpit; es wird in Standardlänge und kurz gefertigt, und das kurze gibt einen kompakten Umriss, der zum gestutzten Heck des Motorrads passt. An einer schwarzen Katana hält ein schwarzer Hebel alles dunkel und klar, während eine einzelne Farbe, vielleicht Gold, den Hebel zu einem bewussten Akzent macht. Blau, Grün und Orange gibt es ebenfalls, jeweils in allen drei Längen, und Rot wird als Standardhebel gefertigt. Welche Farbe Sie auch wählen, die Nabe bleibt schwarz und sitzt unauffällig neben dem Bremszylinder, sodass selbst ein kräftiges Blatt als Teil eines durchdachten Designs wirkt und nicht als nachträglicher Einfall. Wenn beide Seiten zusammenpassen sollen, gibt es den Kupplungshebel ESV004 für die Katana in denselben Farben.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato führt den EDF035 für die GSX-S1000 Katana des Modelljahrs 2020, wo er das Serienblatt am originalen Bremszylinder ersetzt. Für die Kupplungsseite desselben Motorrads führt Accossato den ESV004, eine andere Referenz als der Kupplungshebel des GSX-S1000-Roadsters, und deshalb hat die Katana eigene Produkte. Rote und schwarze Blätter werden nur in Standardlänge gefertigt.
Straßenzulassung
Für den Bremshebel der Katana ist keine deutsche ABE dokumentiert, wir verkaufen ihn deshalb für die Rennstrecke.
