Die Z900RS führt viele Besitzer in die Welt der Klassiker: Clubausfahrten, Treffen und Rallyes, bei denen ein neues Retro-Motorrad neben Maschinen fährt, die ein halbes Jahrhundert alt sind. Diese älteren Motorräder bremsen ganz anders, und wer ein modernes fährt, muss das berücksichtigen. Der Accossato EDF021 ist ein Bremshebel, den Accossato für die Z900RS Special Edition von 2018 und 2019 führt. CNC-gefräst aus Aluminium und eloxiert, wird er am originalen Bremszylinder montiert, und der Abstand zwischen Blatt und Griff ist einstellbar.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Anders als Chrom oder Lack ist das Eloxieren keine Beschichtung auf dem Metall. Es ist die eigene Oberfläche des Metalls, elektrochemisch in hartes Aluminiumoxid umgewandelt, dann gefärbt und versiegelt. So wird der EDF021 veredelt, nachdem er auf CNC-Anlagen aus Aluminium gefräst wurde. Die Nabe mit Drehpunkt und Griffweiteneinsteller ist immer schwarz; das Blatt erhält die Farbe, die Sie wählen. Ohne Klappgelenk ist der Hebel ein glattes, durchgehendes Stück vom Drehpunkt bis zum Ende des Blatts.
Unterwegs mit älteren Maschinen
Ein Motorrad aus den 1970er-Jahren, vielleicht mit einer Trommel vorn oder einer einzelnen frühen Scheibe, braucht weit mehr Weg zum Anhalten als eine aktuelle Maschine, und sein Fahrer weiß das. In einer gemischten Gruppe wird dieser Unterschied zur Gefahr: Bremst ein modernes Motorrad vorn spät und hart, kann der Klassiker dahinter auf derselben Strecke womöglich schlicht nicht anhalten. Der rücksichtsvolle Weg ist, die Z900RS so zu fahren, als hätten Sie selbst die älteren Bremsen. Bremsen Sie früh und allmählich, halten Sie reichlich Abstand und lassen Sie das Bremslicht deutlich vor der Kurve aufleuchten, damit der Fahrer hinter Ihnen Zeit zum Reagieren hat. Ein Hebel, der so eingestellt ist, dass das erste Anlegen sanft ausfällt, macht das selbstverständlich: Stellen Sie den EDF021 so ein, dass das Blatt Ihre Finger trifft, während die Hand noch auf dem Gas ruht, und der erste Teil des Ziehens wird zu einer sanften, sichtbaren Warnung statt zu einem plötzlichen Stopp. Ein silbernes Blatt, erhältlich in der Standardlänge mit rund 138 mm und als kurzer Hebel, passt zu dieser Gesellschaft.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Zwei Bremshebel erscheinen in Accossatos Liste für die Z900RS. Dieser EDF021 ist für die Version Z 900 RS SPECIAL EDITION eingetragen, Modelljahre 2018 und 2019, während der EDF088 für die Z900RS allgemein von 2018 bis 2024 gelistet ist. Da es verschiedene Teile sind, vergleichen Sie vor der Bestellung Ihren Originalhebel und Bremszylinder mit den Produktfotos oder prüfen Sie, als welche Version Ihr Motorrad zugelassen ist. Die Kupplungsseite deckt der ESK750 für Z900RS von 2018 bis 2020 ab.
Straßenzulassung
Für den EDF021 ist keine deutsche ABE dokumentiert; der Hebel wird deshalb für den Einsatz auf der Rennstrecke verkauft.
