Die Monster 797 wurde als Einstieg in Ducatis Naked-Range gebaut: ein luftgekühlter Zweizylinder, eine moderate Sitzhöhe und ein leichtes, freundliches Wesen, das sie zur naheliegenden ersten Ducati macht. In der Stadt wird sie für alles genutzt, auch für ein Manöver, bei dem viele unerfahrene Fahrer stolpern: das Hochfahren eines Bordsteins in eine Einfahrt oder auf einen Parkplatz. Trifft man den Bordstein zu flach, rutscht der Vorderreifen an der Kante entlang statt hochzuklettern, der Lenker schlägt ein, und das Motorrad fällt. Für die Monster 797 von 2017 bis 2020 führt Accossato die Achsprotektoren vorne PF049.

Fertigung und Materialgüte
Accossatos Gabelschutz vorne für die Monster 797 trägt die Artikelnummer PF049 und besteht aus zwei schwarzen Protektoren aus Aluminium und Kunststoff, je einem pro Seite. Das Set enthält nach Beschreibung von Accossato die Distanzstücke und Schrauben und alles, was die Montage sonst noch braucht. Die Protektoren sind als Aufsetzpunkte an der Front gedacht: Fällt die Monster 797 um, sollen sie vor der Gabel auftreffen, was den Schaden dort begrenzen kann. Sie fangen die Schrammen selbst auf, und ist einer stark abgenutzt oder verbogen, wird er einfach erneuert. Accossato, 1969 in Moncalieri bei Turin gegründet, fertigt sie für eine ganze Reihe von Ducati-Modellen.
Bordsteine, Einfahrten und ein zu flacher Winkel
Ein Bordstein wird erst zum Problem, wenn er im falschen Winkel oder mit falschem Tempo angefahren wird. Nahezu rechtwinklig, im Schritttempo und mit etwas Gas genommen, klettert ein niedriger Bordstein mit dem Vorderrad leicht hinauf, das Hinterrad folgt. Im flachen Winkel rutscht der Reifen an der Kante entlang, die Lenkung wird zur Seite gedrückt, und das Motorrad fällt, bevor ein Fuß den Boden erreicht. Planen Sie deshalb die Linie: weit ausholen, dann so einschlagen, dass das Vorderrad den Bordstein möglichst gerade trifft. Halten Sie das Motorrad aufrecht, schauen Sie dorthin, wo Sie anhalten wollen, und lassen Sie die Vorderradbremse los, während das Rad hochklettert. Hohe Bordsteine meidet man besser ganz, und ein feuchter oder bemooster ist selbst im richtigen Winkel rutschig. Gibt es eine abgesenkte Stelle für Autos in der Nähe, nutzen Sie sie. An der leichten, gut zu schiebenden Monster 797 ist es oft am einfachsten, den Motor abzustellen, abzusteigen und das Motorrad hinüberzuschieben.
Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato gibt den PF049 für die Monster 797 von 2017 bis 2020 an, und in einer eigenen Zeile für die Monster 797 Plus von 2017 bis 2019; wir haben ihn für die Monster 797 der Jahre 2017 bis 2020 verlinkt. Das einzige weitere Accossato-Schutzteil auf der Liste für dieses Motorrad sind die Sturzpads TP090, angegeben für 2017 und 2018. In unserem Shop ist der PF049 außerdem mit der Monster 821 und der Monster 1200 verknüpft. Vergewissern Sie sich nach der Montage, dass sich das Vorderrad Ihrer Monster 797 frei dreht und bei vollem Lenkeinschlag nichts schleift.
