Die R 1200 GS Exclusive von BMW war die große Boxer-Reiseenduro für Fahrer, denen die Ausführung ebenso wichtig ist wie die Strecke. Motorräder dieser Ausstattung werden meist nach jeder Tour gewaschen, nach Plan gewartet und eines Tages mit einem Ordner voller Belege weiterverkauft. Wer schon einmal beobachtet hat, wie ein Kaufinteressent neben dem Vorderrad in die Hocke geht, weiß, wo die unangenehmen Fragen beginnen. Für die R 1200 GS Exclusive von 2017 und 2018 führt Accossato den PF048: zwei schwarze Achsprotektoren vorne aus Aluminium und Kunststoff, deren Aufgabe es ist, den ersten Schlag aufzunehmen, wenn das Motorrad zu Boden geht.

Accossato fertigt seit 1969 Motorradteile in der Nähe von Turin, und der PF048 gehört zu den zurückhaltenderen Stücken: Aluminium mit Kunststoff verbunden, in Schwarz ausgeführt, damit es an einer sorgfältig gepflegten GS Exclusive nicht ins Auge fällt. Eine Packung enthält zwei Protektoren, einen für jede Seite der Gabel. Der Hersteller legt außerdem die Distanzstücke und Schrauben in den Karton, dazu alles Weitere, was der Anbau verlangt. Worauf ein Käufer zuerst schaut
Ein erfahrener Käufer, der sich eine gebrauchte GS ansieht, beginnt selten beim Lack am Tank. Die erste Station ist das Vorderrad: ein Blick entlang der Gabelholme, ein Blick auf die Enden der Achse und auf die Unterseite des Kotflügels, denn dort verrät sich ein Motorrad, das umgefallen ist, für gewöhnlich. Händler, die ein Motorrad in Zahlung nehmen, machen es genauso, und tiefe Schleifspuren dort unten lassen sich schwer erklären. An einer R 1200 GS Exclusive, deren Reiz zum Teil auf ihrem Zustand beruht, ist ein Paar Protektoren ein bescheidener Schritt, um die Front vorzeigbar zu halten. Fällt das Motorrad doch um, erzählt ein zerschrammter Protektor eine einfachere Geschichte als ein zerkratzter Gabelholm, und er lässt sich vor dem Verkauf gegen einen neuen tauschen. Passform und Kompatibilität
Accossato gibt dieses Teil für die R 1200 GS Exclusive von 2017 und 2018 an; andere Jahre erscheinen für diese Ausstattung nicht. Derselbe PF048 ist bei Inter-Pace für die normale R 1200 GS, die R 1200 GS Adventure und die R 1250 GS geführt. Drehen Sie nach der Montage der Protektoren das Vorderrad durch und den Lenker von einem Anschlag zum anderen: Nichts darf an den Bremssätteln, den Scheiben oder dem Kotflügel schleifen. Ziehen Sie jede Schraube nach Vorgabe des BMW-Werkstatthandbuchs an und sehen Sie sie nach der ersten Fahrt erneut nach.
Straßenzulassung
Für den PF048 liegen uns keine Prüfdokumente und keine deutsche ABE vor, wir führen ihn deshalb für Rennen und den Wettbewerbseinsatz.
