Design, Verarbeitung und Erbe
Die Handroid-Linie hat sich im Sortiment von Knox stets abgehoben, und der MK5 stellt ihre bislang ausgereifteste Umsetzung dar. Das kräftige Rot entsteht durch Fassfärbung — ein Verfahren, das die Farbe tief in die Lederstruktur einarbeitet und so eine Konsistenz und Tiefe erzielt, die Oberflächenbehandlungen nicht erreichen. Die Exoskelett-Konstruktion an den Fingern ist nicht nur Dekoration, sondern ein strukturelles System, das sich über aufeinanderfolgende Handroid-Generationen weiterentwickelt hat und jedes Mal für bessere Beweglichkeit und effektivere Lastverteilung verfeinert wurde. Die neu gestaltete lange Stulpenmanschette fällt schlanker aus als beim Vorgänger, reicht aber weiter den Unterarm hinauf und hält den Schutz hoch, ohne aufzutragen.

Knox setzt an Handfläche und Innenhand auf 0,8 mm starkes Känguruleder — ein Material, das in der Renn-Handschuhfertigung wegen seines außergewöhnlichen Verhältnisses von Festigkeit zu Dicke und seiner griffigen, natürlichen Struktur geschätzt wird, die in jeder Kurve für Tastgefühl sorgt.
