Ein Helm, drei Konfigurationen — und kein Kinnbügel
🟢 Der District SV S lässt sich in drei Konfigurationen fahren: mit Schirm und Visier als Trail-Helm, mit einem der beiden, oder als reiner Jet.
🔵🔵 Was er in keiner davon hat, ist ein Kinnbügel. Dies ist eine offene Schale mit abnehmbarem Visier — kein Integralhelm.
Zum matten Schwarz
Matt streut das Licht, statt es zu spiegeln: Sie sehen die Silhouette, nicht die Rundung. Bei einem Wandelhelm, der aus Schale, Schirm, Visier und Sonnenblende besteht, ist das die konsequentere Wahl — die Trennlinien zwischen den Baugruppen treten zurück, und der Helm liest sich als ein Objekt statt als Bausatz. In der Jet-Konfiguration, ohne Schirm und ohne Visier, bleibt eine sehr schlichte runde Form übrig, und auch die kommt in Matt besser zur Geltung. 🔵 Der Nachteil steckt in der Pflege, und er ist bei Matt größer als bei Glanz. Eine matte Oberfläche hat eine mikroskopisch raue Struktur, in der sich Insektenreste, Staub und Straßenfilm festsetzen; wegpolieren ist keine Option, weil Polieren die Struktur glättet und dann eine glänzende Stelle hinterlässt, die sich nicht mehr angleichen lässt. Einweichen, sanft abnehmen, keine Politur, keine Wachse. 🔵 Zur Sichtbarkeit: Schwarz ist der Ton, den ein wartender Autofahrer bei bedecktem Himmel am spätesten vom Hintergrund trennt. Bei einem Helm ohne jeden Kinnschutz wiegt das schwerer als bei einem Integralhelm, weil hier das Vermeiden des Unfalls den größten Teil des Schutzes ausmacht. Jacke, Warnweste und Reflexmaterial übernehmen diese Aufgabe — der Helm nicht. Zur Einordnung: Alle vier Ausführungen teilen Schale, Ausstattung und Zulassung.
HIRP, zwei Schalen und EPS variabler Dichte
Die Schale besteht aus HIRP — High Impact Resistant Polymer — und wird in zwei Außenschalengrößen gefertigt. Zwei Schalen statt einer heißt: kleine Größen werden nicht unnötig voluminös.
🟢 Darunter arbeitet EPS in variabler Dichte: Bereiche, die Energie unterschiedlich schnell aufnehmen, sodass sie sich verteilt statt sich zu konzentrieren.
Die ausklappbare Sonnenblende
🟢 Die integrierte, ausklappbare Sonnenblende arbeitet mit montiertem Visier ebenso wie ohne. Das ist der Punkt, an dem viele Wandelhelme scheitern — dort ist die Blende nutzlos, sobald das Visier ab ist.
Zur Pflege: nie trocken abwischen — Straßenstaub ist mineralisch und zieht dauerhafte Kratzer in die Beschichtung.
Das klare Visier — und das Pinlock, das es dafür nicht gibt
🟢 Das klare Frontvisier lässt sich werkzeuglos abnehmen — Voraussetzung dafür, dass man die Konfiguration unterwegs wechselt.
🔵🔵 Wichtig: Für dieses Modell existiert keine Pinlock-Option. Sie wird weder angeboten noch ist der Helm dafür vorbereitet. Bei Kälte und Nässe muss das Visier einen Spalt offen bleiben.
Einlässe, Auslässe und die Kappen im Karton
🟢 Zuluft kommt über Öffnungen an Stirn und Scheitel, Abluft geht am Heck ab. Der ungewöhnliche Teil steckt im Karton: Abdeckkappen für die Öffnungen liegen bei. Wer im Winter zumachen will, muss nichts nachkaufen.
Bei einem Helm, der ohnehin auch mit offenem Gesicht gefahren wird, ist Kühlung selten das Problem — die Kappen lösen eher das umgekehrte.
Der MT-MDTC-Verschluss
🟢 Der Kinnriemen schließt über den MT-MDTC, einen Mikrometerverschluss mit doppelter Verzahnung. Zwei Zahnreihen statt einer teilen sich die Haltekraft — was den Verschleiß an der einzelnen Reihe halbiert.
Für den Fahrer heißt das vor allem: Die Ratsche behält über Jahre ihre Präzision, statt Spiel zu bekommen. Bedient wird sie mit einer Hand, auch im Handschuh.
Innenfutter, Passform und Reinigung
🟢 Der komplette Innenraum lässt sich entnehmen und waschen — und bei einem Helm, der zwischen Straße und Trail wechselt, ist das mehr als Bequemlichkeit: Staub und Schweiß zusammen greifen Schaum und Bezugsstoff an, wenn sie darin bleiben.
Von Hand waschen, kaltes Wasser, an der Luft trocknen. Waschmaschine und Trockner verformen die Schaumeinlagen dauerhaft.
SportCam-Halterung und Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Eine SportCam-Halterung liegt bei — nicht als Zubehör angeboten, sondern im Karton enthalten. In dieser Preisklasse ist das ungewöhnlich, und für einen Helm mit Trail-Ausrichtung ist es die naheliegende Beigabe.
🔵 Die Kamera selbst kommt nicht mit. Ebenso wenig ein Interkom: Der Helm ist dafür vorbereitet, das Gerät ist ein eigener Kauf.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
Im MT-Programm ist der District SV S der wandelbare Stadt- und Trail-Helm: eine offene Schale mit abnehmbarem Schirm und Visier.
🔵 Wer Kinnschutz braucht, ist mit einem Integralhelm besser bedient — MT führt mehrere. Dieser Helm bietet ihn in keiner Konfiguration.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Die Ersatzteilliste ist bei diesem Helm ungewöhnlich lang: Visier, Schirm, Sonnenblende, Lüftungskappen, Wangenpolster und komplettes Futter sind jeweils einzeln erhältlich.
🔵 Der EPS-Dämpfer steht nicht darin — er verformt sich einmal und federt nicht zurück. Deshalb: nach jedem Aufprall sofort ersetzen, und unabhängig davon nach etwa fünf Jahren.
