Was ein offener Helm leistet — und was nicht
🔵 Ein Demi-Jet deckt Schädeldach, Schläfen und Hinterkopf ab. Nicht abgedeckt sind Kinn, Kiefer und Gesicht. Bei einem Sturz nach vorn — der häufigsten Sturzart im Stadtverkehr — ist genau das die Zone, die zuerst aufsetzt.
Für offene Helme gibt es zudem keine unabhängige Bewertung, weil die Prüfprogramme sie nicht führen.
Zur Layout-Grafik in Grau / Orange
Orange hat eine Eigenschaft, die es unter den kräftigen Farben heraushebt: Es liegt weit genug von Grau, Grün und Asphaltbraun entfernt, dass es in fast jeder Umgebung als Fremdkörper gelesen wird — vor einer Leitplanke, vor einer Baumreihe, vor nassem Asphalt. Der graue Anteil übernimmt die Fläche und hält das Ganze ruhig, sodass der Helm nicht wie eine Warnweste wirkt, aber die Signalwirkung dort behält, wo sie zählt. Bei einem Helm ohne Kinnschutz ist jeder Beitrag zur Auffälligkeit einer, der zählt. 🔵 Bei starken Warmtönen ist der Punkt, den man kennen sollte, das Verblassen: Orange und Rot liegen im selben Pigmentbereich und lassen unter dauernder Sonnenlast früher nach als Blau oder Grau. Ein Helm, der am Spiegel in der Sonne hängt, altert an dieser Stelle sichtbarer als in gedeckten Farben — und neben dem grauen Grundton fällt diese ungleiche Alterung auf.
HIRP, ECE 22.06 und DOT
🟢 Zwei Zulassungen auf einem Demi-Jet dieser Preisklasse sind nicht selbstverständlich: ECE 22.06 für Europa, DOT für die USA.
🔵 Eine unabhängige Bewertung ersetzen sie nicht — die gibt es für offene Helme nicht.
MT-ESP — eine vollflächige Sonnenblende auf einem Jet
🔵 Ein Hinweis zur Pflege, der ernster gemeint ist, als er klingt: Die Sonnenblende nie trocken abwischen. Der mineralische Straßenstaub hinterlässt auf der weichen Beschichtung Kratzer, die man im Gegenlicht sieht und nicht mehr wegbekommt.
🟢 Die MT-ESP-Blende ist einzeln nachbestellbar.
Das MT-V-37-Visier und der patentierte MT-QVSS
🟢 Der MT-QVSS-Schnellwechsel ist patentiert und arbeitet werkzeuglos. Bei einem Helm, dessen Visier bei Regen und Kälte häufiger bewegt wird als bei einem Integralhelm, ist das ein praktischer Vorteil.
🔵 Eine Antibeschlagscheibe für das MT-V-37 existiert nicht.
Aktive Belüftung und der abnehmbare Heckdeflektor
🟢 Die farblich abgestimmten Lüftungsteile sind ein gestalterisches Detail mit praktischem Nebeneffekt: Sie sind einzeln als Ersatzteil erhältlich, was bei Lüftungsschiebern nicht selbstverständlich ist — sie brechen häufiger ab als andere Anbauteile.
Dazu kommt der werkzeuglos abnehmbare Heckdeflektor.
Der MT-Micrometric+-Verschluss
🟢 Ein offener Helm muss stramm sitzen — ihn hält nichts außer dem Riemen, weil kein Kinnbügel im Weg ist. Sitzt er zu locker, wandert er im Fahrtwind nach hinten.
Der MT-Micrometric+ lässt sich dafür fein genug einstellen und verankert mit mindestens zwei Zähnen.
Innenfutter, Passform und Interkom-Vorbereitung
🟢 Zur Größenwahl: Messen Sie rund um die breiteste Stelle des Kopfes, etwa ein bis zwei Zentimeter über den Augenbrauen. Ein Helm, den Sie mit geschlossenem Riemen nach vorn vom Kopf rollen können, ist zu groß.
🟢 Der Cosmo SV wird in sieben Größen von XS bis 3XL gebaut — bei einem Demi-Jet ungewöhnlich viele.
🟢 Bei einem Demi-Jet sitzt das Mikrofon im Fahrtwind, nicht dahinter. Wer regelmäßig telefonieren will, sollte deshalb auf ein System mit gutem Windschutz achten — die akustischen Bedingungen sind schwieriger als bei einem geschlossenen Helm.
🔵 Vorgesehen ist das UCS MT-Rider Sync; es liegt nicht bei.
Die Gewichtsangabe — und die ehrliche Liste
🔵 Die ehrliche Liste des Cosmo SV: kein Kinnschutz, keine Sicherheitsbewertung, keine Pinlock-Option, und ein Gewicht, dessen Angaben auseinandergehen (MT: 1,5 kg; Handel: ~1350 g).
🟢 Dagegen: vollflächige Sonnenblende, aktive Belüftung mit abnehmbarem Deflektor, sieben Größen, zwei Zulassungen.
Wo er im MT-Programm steht
🟢 Zehn Ausführungen stehen zur Wahl: drei einfarbige (Pure), zwei Layout, drei Icarus und zwei Arrow. Technisch sind alle zehn identisch.
Unterschiedlich sind allein Lack und Oberfläche; Schale, Ausstattung und Zulassung nicht.
Wenn etwas verschleißt
🟢 Ein Helm ist so lange gut, wie man ihn instand halten kann. MT fertigt in Spanien und führt für den Cosmo SV sechs Positionen einzeln — vom Visier bis zum Heckdeflektor.
🔵 Nach jedem Aufprall und spätestens nach fünf Jahren gehört der ganze Helm ersetzt.
