Born on the pit lane and refined through seasons of MotoGP and WSBK competition, the TK Dischi Freno SBK GP 7.0 brake disc kit brings Italian racing heritage directly to your Triumph Street Triple 765 or Daytona 765 Moto2. The two-piece floating design pairs a precision-machined friction ring with a lightweight carrier available in a choice of finishes — a statement of intent whether you are heading for the circuit or carving canyon roads.
Key Features
- Italian-engineered two-piece floating construction developed and proven in MotoGP and World Superbike Championship conditions.
- Reduces operating temperature by up to 20 % compared to conventional solid discs, significantly limiting brake fade under sustained heavy braking.
- Reduced rotating mass improves steering response, turn-in and overall handling precision.
- Lower wear rate on brake pads without any compromise in braking force — a longer service life for both disc and pad.
- Available in four distinct inner-carrier finishes: hard-anodised, black, red and blue, letting you match or contrast your Street Triple's colour scheme.
- 7.0 mm friction ring thickness with a 30 mm friction ring width — engineered to maximise pad contact area and heat dissipation simultaneously.
Design, Finish and Heritage
TK Dischi Freno has built its reputation supplying rotors to some of the most demanding championship paddocks in the world. Every SBK GP 7.0 disc starts life as a carefully selected steel friction ring, machined to exacting tolerances in Italy, and is then mated to an anodised aluminium inner carrier. The result is a component that carries genuine racing DNA — not just in its metallurgy but in its distinctive multi-spoke carrier profile, which draws a direct visual line to the factory WSBK machinery that inspired it.
The hard-anodised finish is the purest expression of the design: the natural aluminium alloy grain shows through the protective oxide layer for a satin industrial look. The black variant offers a stealthy, understated appearance that complements the Street Triple's aggressive naked silhouette. Red and blue carriers are the bolder choices — a nod to the Italian tricolore and the racing liveries TK Dischi Freno is associated with. Note that red and blue variants are produced in smaller batches and may carry longer lead times; plan accordingly if you need them for a specific event date.
Performance on Road and Track
The 7.0 mm disc thickness is the SBK GP 7.0's defining dimension. At this thickness the friction ring stores and releases heat more effectively than a thinner road disc, allowing the Street Triple 765's radial-mount front calipers to deliver consistent, linear feel deep into a braking zone lap after lap. The 320 mm standard diameter (with a 330 mm option available) maintains full compatibility with the factory caliper position on all 765 variants from 2017 onwards, so no bracket adapters or caliper spacers are required for a direct bolt-on installation.
Before fitting, confirm that your front brake calipers are rated for a 7.0 mm disc. While the Triumph Street Triple 765 S, R, RS and Moto2 Edition calipers are designed to accommodate this specification, any aftermarket calipers should be verified independently.
