Precision-engineered from coated aluminium rather than conventional steel, the TGP MotoRacing Hyperdiscs deliver one of the most effective drivetrain upgrades available for the Aprilia RSV4 generation. Replacing the standard steel intermediate clutch plates with these featherweight aluminium discs slashes rotating mass by up to 700 g — no engine work required, no compromises, just measurably sharper performance from the first ride.
Key Features
- Coated aluminium construction weighs approximately one third of equivalent OEM steel plates, cutting up to 700 g of rotating mass from the clutch pack
- Reduced gyroscopic forces translate directly into lighter, more intuitive steering and quicker direction changes
- Faster engine rev response and improved acceleration out of corners thanks to lower rotational inertia
- Significantly reduced rear-wheel patter on aggressive downshifts, giving greater confidence under braking
- Superior heat dissipation maintains a consistent clutch feel across long track sessions and demanding road use
- Dimensionally identical to earlier RSV4 generation plates — dimensions 47.5 / 48.0 mm, stack height 18.0 mm (9 × 2.0 mm)
Build Quality and Materials
The TGP MotoRacing Hyperdiscs stand apart through the quality of their construction. Each disc is machined from high-grade aluminium and finished with a specialist coating engineered to withstand the heat cycles and shear forces generated by a high-revving V4. The coating protects the aluminium substrate while maintaining the low coefficient of friction necessary for clean clutch engagement and release. This is not a compromise between weight saving and durability — the Hyperdiscs are designed for sustained track use where a conventional aluminium friction surface would simply not survive.
The 9-plate set arrives as a direct replacement for the OEM steel intermediate plates. Dimensions are held to the same tolerances as the originals, so fitment is straightforward with no basket or hub modification needed. The 2.0 mm per plate thickness stacks to the factory 18.0 mm pack height, preserving correct spring preload and clutch lever feel without adjustment.
Performance on Road and Track
On a machine as capable as the RSV4 1100 Factory, rotating mass reduction at the clutch is one of the few modifications that affects multiple areas of performance simultaneously. Reduced inertia in the clutch pack means the engine responds quicker to throttle inputs, the chassis settles more readily mid-corner, and the drivetrain absorbs downshift loads with less violence at the rear tyre. For trackday riders and club racers, the improvement in rear-wheel stability under trail braking is particularly noticeable.
For best results, TGP MotoRacing recommend fitting fresh racing friction plates at the same time. The combination of new friction material and lightweight aluminium intermediates ensures clean disengagement, positive lock-up, and even performance even under prolonged extreme load.
Fitment and Compatibility
These Hyperdiscs are confirmed to fit the following models:
- Aprilia RSV4 (2021–2026)
- Aprilia RSV4 RR (2021–2026)
- Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory (2021–2026)
Note: dimensions are identical to those used on earlier RSV4 model generations.
