Feet forward, arms wide, nothing ahead of you worth calling a screen: on an XDiavel V4 the rider takes the airstream in the chest. Whatever the air happens to be carrying on a given evening, you meet it first and the intake meets it a moment later. It is the one riding position where the filter's job is visible without opening anything.

The sample on your jacket
Come back from a warm evening ride and look at the leading edges: visor, shoulders, the front of the sleeves. That film is a record of the air the ride passed through, gathered by the same forward motion that fed the intake. The element inside the airbox took in the identical air, kept the far smaller fraction as well, and holds all of it until somebody lifts it out. There is no better case for a fine grade on this machine than a helmet after a hundred kilometres of summer road, and no need to argue it in numbers at all.
The half that is given away
Fine costs flow, always, and here the amount is printed: 1,800 litres per square metre per second where the standard element is rated at 5,050, a little over a third of it. That is a deliberate exchange, not a hidden one. Nor does it work in reverse — no slot-in element makes a standard XDiavel V4 quicker, whichever medium sits in the box, and this one surrenders headroom on top of that. What it offers is a finer specification in the path, for a motorcycle ridden out in the open air rather than behind bodywork.
Care and cleaning
The routine is an air line held to the clean side and worked outward until the medium gives its load back. Where the dirt is oily, lukewarm water with a mild detergent lifts it and a full rinse finishes the job. The element dries in circulating air at room temperature, never with a heat gun and never over a flame, and the PM160P14 is refitted dry and untreated.
