The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sprint Filter offers this fine element to the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario of 2019 and not to the standard Monster 1200 built alongside it. Where the intake is concerned the two are the same motorcycle, and a coverage list is compiled from supplied data rather than from an engineering opinion. The practical lesson is narrow and worth taking: order on the code and the year, and do not reason your way across from one model name to a neighbouring one. If a Monster is not on the list, the standard panel for this housing is the part that is.
Key Features
- Special dry nonwoven with 14-micron filtration, the fine grade offered for this Ducati airbox
- 1,800 litres per square metre per second of flow; the standard woven panel, 5,050
- Roughly twice the filtering surface of a conventional performance element
- One element, fitted in the untouched series airbox, with no remap required
- Dry in use and never oiled, so no film reaches the sensors further downstream
- Cleaned rather than replaced, drawn for the motorcycle's life, two-year warranty
The largest engine on the list
1200 cc is the biggest displacement this code is catalogued against; the rest of the list starts at an 800. The flow surrendered is a fixed property of the medium, the appetite for it is not. Going from 5,050 to 1,800 litres per square metre per second is the same reduction on every machine here, asked of the largest engine among them. That is not an argument against the choice, only a reason to be clear about it — and a 2019 special edition covering a few thousand dry-weather kilometres a year is the case this grade was drawn for.
A part that is cleaned, not replaced
What this element changes is a maintenance habit, not a power figure. It will not make a standard Monster 1200 stronger; nothing that drops into an untouched airbox does, and a fine grade gives up intake headroom on top. What it offers is a restriction that stays closer to its starting value as the load builds, helped by a filtering area around twice that of an ordinary performance panel, and a component that leaves the service schedule as a purchase and rejoins it as a task.
Care and cleaning
Cleaning is a dry procedure. Compressed air, clean side, outward — the dust leaves by its entry path and the medium is ready again. A film that will not blow out washes off in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly. Drying is room-temperature air in motion, never a heat gun and never a flame, and the CM61P14 goes back into the airbox dry with nothing applied. Fitment & Compatibility
Catalogued for the Ducati Monster 1200 25° Anniversario of 2019, a single model year. Three more machines carry the same code: the Scrambler 800 of 2015–2023, the Hypermotard 939 of 2016–2018 and the Hypermotard 950 / SP of 2019–2025, four entries in all. The standard Monster 1200 of 2014–2021 is not one of them, and the 890 cc Monster V2 of 2026 belongs to another housing altogether under PM279P14.
