The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two entries on this filter's list are called F3. One runs from 2011 to 2021 and is the 675; this one runs from 2017 to 2026 and is the 798 cc version, sold as the F3 800 and, in Reparto Corse trim, as the F3 RC. For several of those years both were current at once. The part number does not care — CM135S fits every one of them — but the product page has to be chosen by capacity and year rather than by the badge on the tail unit.
Key Features
- Single-layer polyester weave, run dry, with no oil at any point in its life
- 80 µm aperture; the rated figure is 5,050 litres per square metre per second
- Filtering area roughly doubled against other performance elements
- A straight swap for the standard panel — the housing is not modified and no remap follows
- Cleaned with compressed air and put back, rather than binned
- Specified for the life of the bike, with two years of warranty from purchase
What the RC badge is allowed to change
A Reparto Corse F3 arrives with different bodywork, different wheels, a racing kit in the crate and a numbered plaque. It does not arrive with a different airbox, and no MV parts list suggests otherwise. That is genuinely useful when a consumable falls due: the ordering decision is made from the housing, so an RC owner is not hunting a rare item and an F3 800 owner is not being given a lesser one. Both take the element that also feeds the Superveloce and the Turismo Veloce.
The one figure worth understanding
5,050 l/m²/sec is a rate normalised to a square metre of cloth. On its own it says nothing about how much air reaches an F3's throttle bodies, because the area of the element is not inside the number. It is useful as a comparison against Sprint Filter's other media, where the same test yields 15,000 for the racing weave and 1,800 for the dust medium. Read that way it puts the P08 where it belongs: the road and track choice, the one whose case does not depend on the owner's cleaning habits. It will not make a standard F3 faster; nothing that drops into a standard airbox does.
Care and cleaning
The service is compressed air applied to the clean face and pushed outwards through the weave. Anything the air will not release comes off in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until the water leaves it clean. After that the only rule that matters is that drying happens at ambient temperature: heat and flame both destroy the polyester, and a damp element belongs nowhere near an intake. It is refitted dry, with nothing added. The Downloads tab holds Sprint Filter's maintenance sheet.
Fitment & Compatibility
Covers the MV Agusta F3 800 and F3 RC built from 2017 to 2026. This element is common to eleven MV Agusta triples, listed individually in the Fitment tab.
