Two guarantees come with this element and they are not the same kind of thing. One is contractual: two years from the invoice, covering the part being what Sprint Filter says it is. The other is an engineering intention — the P08 medium in the PM200S is drawn to stay serviceable for as long as the 125 Duke is on the road, because it is washed instead of thrown away. A first motorcycle tends to be sold on after a season or two, so it is worth knowing which promise does what.

What the two years actually covers
The warranty exists for the rare fault in the fabric, the frame or the bonding — a seam that lets go, a rim that will not seal. It is not a wear clause, because this element is not designed to wear out in the way a paper panel does. Paper is a consumable: it loads, its pleats deform, and at some point the workshop bins it. The polyester weave is a fixture. If it looks grey after a winter, that is dirt held where it belongs, and a few minutes with an air line puts it right. None of that is covered by a warranty because none of it is a failure.
The promise that outlives the first owner
A 125 is usually somebody's first motorcycle and it usually has a second and third owner. The element goes with the bike. Because it carries no oil, there is no treatment history to reconstruct and no question of whether a previous owner over-applied something and left a film on a sensor downstream. What the next rider inherits is a panel that can be brought back to condition in the time it takes to make coffee. And it should be said plainly: fitting one does not make a learner machine quick. Bikes in this class are limited by regulation, not by their filters. What changes is that the restriction holds steady.
Care and cleaning
Compressed air does most of the work: hold the jet against the clean face and let the dust exit the side it came in on. If the panel has taken a heavy load, soak it in tepid water with a drop of washing-up liquid, rinse it through and stand it somewhere airy until it is completely dry. Never put heat to it and never let a flame near it. The Downloads tab holds the illustrated service sheet if you want the sequence in pictures. Refit it dry, and leave the oil bottle for somebody else's cotton filter.
Fitment & Compatibility
Listed here for the KTM 125 Duke, 2017 through 2023; the redesigned 125 Duke from 2024 takes PM293S instead.
