⟲ 360° — drag meThe facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most part numbers in this catalogue carry a small crowd. Three or four machines share one airbox, now and then across two marques, and the element is common ground between them. PM259S carries exactly one. The Kove Rally 300 has no larger sibling on this housing, no second model keeping the shelves stocked, and that solitude is worth thinking about before ordering any consumable for it.
Key Features
- Dry woven polyester in a single layer, supplied without oil and never oiled in service
- 80 microns of filtration with a rated flow of 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Polyester threads from 22 microns across — the figure describes the fibre, not the mesh it forms
- Replaces the standard element inside the unmodified airbox, with the mapping left as delivered
- Approximately twice the filtering area of other performance elements made for this space
- Regenerated with compressed air; engineered for the life of the bike and guaranteed for two years
One machine on the part number
A shared element rides on the sales of every model that uses it. Warehouses restock it because several bikes call for it, and a supplier who drops one listing keeps the other. A number that answers to a single machine has none of that behind it, and consumables in that position are the ones that quietly turn into a four-week wait somewhere down the line — the more so for a marque still building out its European parts network. An element that is cleaned and refitted steps around the question rather than answering it: after the first purchase there is no reorder to place, so the availability of PM259S in five years' time stops being your problem.
What this weave is set up for
Sprint Filter lists two media for the Rally 300 and puts them a long way apart. This one is the road and track specification, 80 microns at 5,050 l/m²/sec; the other is the T12 for extreme going, 7 microns at 560. Nothing sits in between, so the choice is genuinely about the air you spend your hours in and not about which element is the better one — finer always retains more and flows less, and that trade runs in both directions. Neither of them makes a 300 single quicker, whatever a catalogue photograph suggests. What the woven version offers a mostly road-ridden Rally is low intake resistance that returns to where it started at every clean.
Care and cleaning
An air line does the routine work: apply it to the clean face and blow the dirt back outwards, never inwards. For deeper soiling, hand-wash the element in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse it until the water is clear. Then let it dry completely in the air, without a radiator, a heat gun or a flame anywhere near it, and install it dry and untreated. You will find the manufacturer's maintenance leaflet in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
For the Kove Rally 300 of model years 2022 to 2026. Unusually for this range, the Fitment tab of this page names a single motorcycle: the element was specified for this airbox and nothing else.
