The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
A CB150R earns its keep by being ridden, most days, usually in short hops, often in traffic dense enough that the air it breathes is mostly other people's. That kind of use rewards maintenance that is easy far more than maintenance that is clever, and here the motorcycle helps. Nothing on a Neo Sports Cafe single hides the work: the frame and engine are on show by design, there is no fairing to unclip and no run of panels to keep track of, so reaching the airbox is a short job rather than an afternoon. An element you can inspect in minutes is an element that genuinely gets inspected, and the Sprint Filter P08 SM219S is built for exactly that rhythm, cleaned and refitted instead of ordered and discarded.
Key Features
- Two years of warranty from purchase, on an element washed and reused rather than reordered
- Nothing is oiled into the medium, so there is nothing to wash out of it and nothing to travel downstream
- A calibrated weave of polyester threads from ø 22 microns upwards, not a random pulp structure
- P08 specification: 80 microns of filtration, an airflow figure of 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Filtering surface roughly twice that of other performance elements
- Straight replacement in the standard airbox: no modification, no remap
The service that costs nothing is the service that happens
Every paper element carries a small tax before the spanners come out: a number to look up, an order to place, a wait, and the standing temptation to leave it another month because the replacement has not arrived yet. Take the purchase out of the equation and the interval shrinks to whatever a compressor and ten minutes will allow. On a machine used daily in urban air this is worth more than any single line on a specification sheet, because the filter that protects an engine best is simply the one nobody has been putting off.
Dry, and therefore repeatable
Because the P08 is never oiled, refitting it is a deterministic business. There is no quantity of oil to judge, no over-oiled patch to blot, and no film that can find its way onto an air sensor or a throttle body while you are trying to help. The medium filters at 80 microns and flows 5,050 l/m²/sec clean, and compressed air from the clean side puts it back close to those figures rather than merely tidying it up. Sprint Filter designs the P08 to last the life of the motorcycle, so the same element goes back in year after year.
Care and cleaning
A compressor and a few spare minutes: clean side, blowing outwards, and the SM219S is ready to go back. When it wants the full treatment, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until the water runs clear, then let it dry in air alone — no heat, no flame. It is refitted dry. Nothing is oiled at any stage, which is why the job stays short. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
