The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
The D|air is the Multistrada that talks to the rider's jacket. Sensors on the motorcycle decide in milliseconds whether an airbag should be fired, and that changes how you should think about anything you introduce into the machine. On a bike whose systems all read from measurements, adding a substance to a tract nobody can inspect is a decision, not a detail. PM127S is a dry element: there is no filter oil in it, nothing tacky, and nothing that can be carried downstream and settle where a sensor is trying to read.
Key Features
- Contains no oil at any stage, before fitting or after washing
- About double the filtering area of a conventional performance panel
- Fits the standard box exactly as it is, with no change to any system on the bike
- Cleaned with compressed air and refitted immediately, dry
- Polyester filament from 22 micrometres upward, woven rather than felted
- Two-year warranty beginning on the date of purchase
A machine that decides things in milliseconds
Every function this version is built around depends on a chain of measurements being trustworthy. An oiled gauze traps dust by holding it in a wet film, and a wet film in a hot box under load does not stay where it was applied. It adds no power to leave that film out. What it adds is that the chain has one fewer variable in it, and on a motorcycle whose electronics are part of the safety case, that is the argument that decides the specification.
Nothing else about the bike changes
The element takes the exact space Ducati provided for a filter. The box still seals, the ducting is untouched, no bracket is added and the calibration is left alone — the electronics see a slightly freer path, not a different one. That also means there is nothing to declare, nothing to reverse before a service, and nothing for a later owner to discover. The whole modification, if it can be called one, is invisible from the outside and reversible in five minutes.
Care and cleaning
Clean it with air pressure applied to the inside face, pushing the dust back out the way it arrived. When air is no longer enough, wash it in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse it until the water leaves clear and then let it dry right through in ordinary moving air. Heat is what kills these elements, so no radiator, no gun and no flame. Refit dry. The maintenance sheet sits under the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
