The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two model years is a short listing. The NK 250 appears in the Sprint Filter catalogue for 2018 and 2019 only, and machines like that reach a familiar stage after a while: still perfectly sound, still ridden every week, but no longer the model anyone stocks parts for in depth. The air element is where that shows first, because it is the one component the schedule demands again and again, and the one a supplier is quickest to let run out.
Key Features
- Cleaned and refitted indefinitely — nothing to reorder when supply thins out
- Dry polyester cloth in a single layer, 80 microns at 5,050 l/m²/sec
- Sits in the standard airbox in the original panel's place, without modification
- Kept dry from first fitting to last: no oil to apply, and none to migrate
- Around twice the filtering surface of the usual performance element
- Two years of warranty, with a service life set by the motorcycle's own
A part that outlasts its listing
Spare-part supply for a short-run model does not stop; it gets slower and less predictable. Consumables go first, since they are the items a distributor has to hold in quantity to be useful at all. Owners meet this as a lengthening wait, then as a substitute of unclear origin. A washable element steps out of that chain altogether: once it is in the airbox, the only thing standing between the machine and a serviced intake is a compressed-air line, and the question of who still lists a panel for a 2018 NK 250 stops mattering.
What a 250 gains, and what it does not
Nothing here changes the character of a small single. The engine is bounded by its capacity and by the map CFMOTO wrote for it, and no drop-in element moves those limits — a filter promising otherwise would be describing a different part. The realistic account is quieter: an intake whose restriction does not creep upward between services, a panel that can be inspected without a purchase attached to it, and one fewer consumable in the upkeep of a motorcycle that has already outlived its own model run.
Care and cleaning
Servicing this element needs no consumables at all. Compressed air from the clean face outwards clears ordinary dust; if the weave carries an oily film, lukewarm water and a little mild detergent will take it off. Rinse, then let it dry fully in moving air. Heat of any kind, from a gun, a radiator or a flame, will spoil the cloth, and a damp panel must not be refitted.
