DescriptionThe whole story▼
The entry point into Spark's underseat kits for the Panigale V4: a stainless steel manifold, a stainless link section and two Moto GP silencers, at 3.2 kg against the 6.2 kg of standard hardware it replaces. Three kilos off the tail of a superbike is the kind of change you feel at turn-in rather than read on a dyno sheet.
Key Features
- Stainless steel manifold and link with two Moto GP silencers, underseat.
- 3.2 kg against 6.2 kg — 3.0 kg removed.
- Moto GP is Spark's short, steeply cut prototype-derived case.
- Compatible with the original licence plate holder.
- Works with the original fairings and closed racing bodywork.
- Panigale V4, V4 S, V4 R and Streetfighter V4.
The Short Case Problem
A Moto GP silencer is noticeably shorter than the Grid-O or the rectangular cases in this range, and short silencers are harder to make work. Volume is what absorbs sound energy, so cutting the case down forces the packing and the perforated core to do proportionally more of the job — and leaves the welding much less length to hide behind.
The reason to accept that difficulty is the look. On a Panigale V4 the underseat position puts the outlets right under the tail light, and a short case there reads as prototype rather than aftermarket. It is the most compact of the underseat options Spark offers for the bike.
Performance & Sound
Spark publishes no decibel figure for this configuration. For context, the other underseat kits on this bike sit between 102 and 105 dB, and the Moto GP case tends to land at the upper end of a range because of its length. If you need a number before entering a series that checks, ask us and we will request it from Spark rather than estimate.
An ECU remap is recommended. On a V4 that is not boilerplate — the standard map is written around a restrictive exhaust.
Stainless Through and Through
Manifold and link are both stainless on this kit, and that is what puts it at the bottom of the price list for Spark's underseat range. It is also what keeps it there in weight: 3.2 kg is genuinely light for a stainless assembly, and the reason is that the section being replaced — the standard collector and silencers on a Panigale V4 — is unusually heavy to begin with.
Stainless has a second advantage that gets overlooked on a bike like this. The underseat run passes close to the shock and the rear tyre, where a stone thrown up at speed lands with real force. A stainless section shrugs that off; thin titanium dents.
Installation
- ECU mapping is recommended.
- Compatible with the original fairings and with closed fairings for racing use.
- Compatible with the original licence plate holder.
- Not compatible with the passenger footboard.
- The under-saddle lock is not accessible once fitted.
Fitment & Compatibility
Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S, V4 R (2018-2024) and the Streetfighter V4. Stepping up from here: the Grid-O kits at 105 dB, or the Dyno kit at 102 dB with sub-100 dB dB killers.
Road Approval
None. No certificate, no catalytic converter, and the under-saddle lock is lost — a track kit in every respect.
