Where a Big Clamp Is Needed
Around a sixty millimetre pipe inside a sleeve, or around the inlet section of a large silencer. Sixty millimetres is Spark's most common silencer inlet, so the joint that feeds a universal case often lands in exactly this clamp's range.
The Load Goes Up With Size
A larger joint has more area for gas pressure to act on and more leverage acting on the clamp from the weight behind it. That does not mean tightening harder — it means a properly sized clamp on a properly sized joint, because force cannot make up for a poor fit at this diameter.
Ovality Is the Enemy
Thin-wall tube at sixty millimetres goes out of round easily, and a clamp closing onto an oval joint grips on two points instead of all the way round. Check the section with a vernier across two axes before assuming a clamp will hold.
