DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Sidi Stryda Dual in Black is a CE-certified riding shoe disguised as a casual high-top sneaker. A black microfiber upper sits on a honey-coloured gum sole, so nobody at the office, in a café or on the train will read it as motorcycle gear, yet underneath there are protectors and a sole compound chosen for the footpegs.
The name points to its main difference from the regular Stryda: two ways to close it. Conventional laces handle the fine adjustment, and a zip on the inner side of the foot, hidden beneath a flap, lets you step in and out without touching the laces at all.
Key Features
- Upper of 95% microfiber and 5% TPU, reinforced with TPU
- Hybrid closure: laces plus a medial zip covered by a protective flap
- Fortex™ structure working together with CE-certified protectors
- Extra reinforcement over the zones most exposed to impact and abrasion
- Extended profile for more coverage and stability than a low-cut sneaker
- Concrecto™ sole of 95% rubber and 5% polyamide for peg grip and walking
- CE certified to EN 13634:2017, unisex sizes EU 36 to 50
Laces Plus Zip
Many riding sneakers force a choice between a precise lace-up fit and quick entry. Here you get both. Set the lace tension once along the instep, then use the medial zip every morning and evening to open the shoe wide enough to slip in. A flap folds over the zipper, so the teeth are shielded on the side that faces the motorcycle rather than left bare. Sidi adds that the zip contributes extra support around the midfoot, which helps keep the foot settled while you are riding.
Protection and Certification
This model carries CE certification to EN 13634:2017, the European standard for protective footwear for motorcyclists. Sidi does not state individual performance levels for the Stryda Dual, so none are given here. Inside the upper, the Fortex™ structure is combined with CE-certified protectors. According to Sidi, the idea is effective safety that still leaves the foot free to move naturally rather than locking it into a rigid shell. Further reinforcements are placed where a foot most often meets the ground or the bike in a fall: the impact and abrasion zones.
Materials and Construction
Microfiber makes up 95% of the upper, with TPU accounting for the remaining 5%. Microfiber is a synthetic material, not leather, and the TPU parts give the upper its structure where it needs to hold shape. A 100% polyester lining sits on the inside. The cut rises higher than a classic low sneaker; Sidi calls it an extended profile and lists both coverage and stability as the reasons. The shoe is produced in China.
A Sole for Pegs and Pavement
Sidi uses its Concrecto™ compound here, a mix of 95% rubber and 5% polyamide. The brief for this sole is twofold: dependable grip on the footpegs and enough flex for normal walking. That combination is what makes the Stryda Dual suitable for a full day: ride to work, walk across town at lunch, ride home. Commuting, urban riding and casual use are the scenarios Sidi names for it.
Fit and Sizes
Sizing runs from EU 36 up to EU 50 and is unisex, so the same model covers small and very large feet. Because the zip takes over the daily opening and closing, the laces can stay at the tension that suits your instep. Sidi publishes no width category for this shoe. If you ride in thicker winter socks, keep that in mind when choosing between two sizes.
What You Should Know
The Stryda Dual is an urban and casual riding shoe. Sidi names no waterproof membrane for it, and the material list shows only a polyester lining, so treat it as a dry-weather shoe and plan for overshoes or a different boot on rainy days. As a shoe it ends around the ankle and does not protect the shin; for track days, off-road riding or long touring stages, a full motorcycle boot is the more suitable choice.
Colour
The black version is almost entirely monochrome: black upper, black laces, a black heel pull loop and the Sidi lettering embossed tone-on-tone into the side panel, with only a small white logo on the tongue standing out. A perforated panel around the collar adds texture. The gum sole in a warm honey shade gives the shoe a classic sneaker character and goes well with jeans, chinos or dark workwear trousers. Black hides road grime and chain spray on the upper well, while the lighter sole will show scuffs over time. In the dark, black shoes add nothing to your visibility, so rely on other gear for that.
