Front protection for the MAG-1 lower leg: this shin plate is the original Sidi part listed at position 140. The hard plastic guard covers the front of the shaft, where the tibia sits close under the skin, and it is one of the most visible pieces of the boot, offered in Black or in Black/White.

Guarding the Shin
The shinbone has very little natural padding, which is why road racing boots place a rigid plate across the front of the shaft. It deflects a direct strike from debris, the bike or the ground and distributes the force instead of letting it land on one point. A plate that is split, chipped through or torn from its mounts no longer does this reliably and should be renewed.
Selecting the Version
The MAG-1 is available in different colourways, and the shin plate is a large part of the boot's front view. Choose plain Black or the two-tone Black/White version to match the rest of your boot. There is no size choice for this part in the Sidi list.
