DescriptionThe whole story▼
Misting up halfway through a moto is one of the quickest ways to lose time, which is why the anti-fog coating is a central part of the Sidi Gravix Smoke. In Yellow Fluo/Black/Grey this 118-gram motocross goggle teams a fluorescent frame with black graphics and a grey Category 1 lens.
Key Features
- Light at 118 grams
- Category 1 smoke lens (43-79% VLT)
- Anti-fog coating for hard efforts
- Scratch-resistant surface
- Anti-intrusion frame, reinforced lens (Sidi data)
- Two-layer face foam
- Adjustable outriggers, silicone strap lining
- Yellow fluo frame, strap fading to black
Comfort Where It Touches
The face foam is made of two layers, which Sidi says delivers essential comfort, a secure seal and moisture management. In practice that means the lining is there to absorb sweat on hot days instead of letting it reach your eyes.
Staying on the Helmet
Adjustable outriggers let the goggle shape itself to the helmet, which according to Sidi improves pressure distribution and evens out strap tension. The elastic strap has silicone on its inner face to grip the shell when you land jumps or ride through rough terrain.
Frame Protection
Sidi specifies an anti-intrusion frame designed to keep dirt and debris out, together with a reinforced lens construction. The goggle is made of 45 percent TPU, 25 percent polycarbonate, 15 percent PES, 12 percent PU foam and 3 percent silicone and other materials, produced in China.
Lens Performance
A smoke grey tint in Category 1 filters a moderate amount of light; Sidi's VLT scale lists that category as 43 to 79 percent transmission. Besides the anti-fog layer, the lens has a scratch-resistant treatment to keep the surface usable for longer.
Riding Conditions
Motocross and off-road riding are the intended uses. The goggle works well where conditions shift during a session, from bright open sections to shaded stretches. Sidi notes that parts are replaceable to prolong its service life, without detailing which ones.
What You Should Know
The anti-fog coating reduces condensation; it does not rule it out entirely in every situation. No protection standard is given for the Gravix Smoke, so we claim none. Compatibility with prescription glasses and with tear-offs is not documented. Compared with a clear lens, the smoke tint means less light in dark conditions. One size only.
Colour
The front is all fluorescent yellow, with a black nose bridge and black outrigger clips. Black SIDI letters stand out on the yellow strap, which darkens gradually into black towards the buckle end, where a small yellow SIDI logo and "Made to Progress" are printed. The grey is the lens. This is a high-contrast look that is easy to pick out on track; the black rear section of the strap hides dirt better than the front.
