DescriptionThe whole story▼
Violet is not a colour you see on every start line, and paired with fluo yellow it makes the Sidi Gravix hard to overlook. Behind the bold styling is a practical tool: a motocross goggle with a clear category 0 lens for the cloudy, shaded and late-light riding where tinted lenses struggle.
Sidi keeps the weight at 118 grams and combines it with two-layer foam, an anti-intrusion frame and an elastic strap that grips the helmet with silicone.
Key Features
- Violet frame with fluo yellow nose section and clips
- Lens rated category 0, clear, for low-light riding
- Anti-fog coating against condensation
- Scratch-resistant lens treatment
- Two-layer foam with moisture management
- Adjustable outriggers, silicone-lined elastic strap
- 118 g, one-size design
Comfort Layer
Comfort on a goggle starts where it touches the face. Sidi uses a dual-layer foam on the Gravix and promises essential comfort together with a secure fit. The foam also has a moisture job: it soaks up sweat so less of it reaches your eyes when the moto gets long. By material share the PU foam accounts for 12 percent of the goggle.
The Lens
This version carries a clear lens in category 0, the lightest class. Sidi's table for the Gravix range ties category 0 to 80 to 100 percent of visible light getting through, so detail stays visible under thick cloud, among trees or late in the day. The lens has a scratch-resistant treatment for the surface and an anti-fog coating that cuts back condensation. According to Sidi, the lens is part of a reinforced construction intended to help against impacts.
Material Mix and Weight
At 118 grams the Gravix is light enough not to drag on the strap over rough ground. TPU is the main material at 45 percent, followed by polycarbonate at 25 percent and PES at 15 percent; together with the PU foam and 3 percent silicone and other materials that adds up to the full goggle. It is made in China, and Sidi designs several components to be replaceable.
Mounting to the Helmet
Adjustable outriggers connect frame and strap. Set correctly, they let the goggle follow the shape of the helmet, and Sidi says they distribute pressure evenly while balancing strap tension. The inside of the elastic strap is lined with silicone to hold firmly on the shell during jumps, hard acceleration and rough terrain.
Riding Conditions
This is a goggle for motocross and other off-road riding when the light is limited: overcast days, forest sections, rain clouds and dusk. The anti-intrusion frame is meant to stop dirt and debris getting in around the lens, which Sidi describes as part of the Gravix's protective concept. No test standard is given for it.
What You Should Know
Bright sunshine is not this goggle's territory; the clear lens offers no tint, and Sidi lists darker categories in its range for sunny conditions. There is no stated norm or CE marking. We have no information from Sidi on tear-offs, roll-offs, use over glasses or venting, and the list of available spare parts is not published. The goggle is one size.
Colour
The frame is a rich violet, and the nose section beneath the lens is picked out in fluo yellow. The strap starts in violet and fades into a yellowish olive tone towards the end, with white SIDI letters; the clips match the fluo yellow of the nose. It is a striking combination that suits riders whose kit already plays with purple or neon. The violet hides light dirt reasonably well, while the yellow nose section will show mud first.
