DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Gladius Red is Sidi's clear-lens motocross goggle in a single bold colour. Frame and strap share the same red, the lens is untinted, and the whole goggle weighs 120 grams.
Choose it for overcast rounds, early starts and enduro loops through the trees, where seeing every rut matters more than cutting glare.
Key Features
- Red frame with matching red strap
- Untinted Category 0 lens for low light
- Scratch-resistant treatment on the lens
- Reinforced lens construction according to Sidi
- Over The Glasses design
- Twin-layer foam padding
- Silicone-lined elastic band
- One size, 120 g
Over the Glasses
Many goggles squeeze spectacles against the face. The Gladius is designed with an integrated OTG volume instead, so prescription glasses can stay on under the frame. Sidi states that stability and comfort are maintained. If your glasses have a wide or deep frame, test the combination with your helmet before race day.
Sight in Dim Conditions
Sidi rates the lens Category 0. In the brand's chart, that stands for 80 to 100 percent visible light transmission, the most light any lens in the range lets through. Cloud, flat light and dusk are the conditions Sidi names. The scratch-resistant surface is meant to keep the view clear despite contact with grit, and Sidi calls the lens build reinforced.
Holding On
When the bike lands short or the track is full of braking bumps, the strap does the work. Sidi lines the printed elastic band with silicone so it grips the helmet. The dual-layer foam then seals the frame against your face and helps with sweat on hot, hard rides.
Material Mix
Sidi's declaration lists 45 percent TPU and 25 percent polycarbonate, plus 15 percent PES, 12 percent PU foam and 3 percent silicone and other materials. The brand also refers to replaceable components for a longer service life, though it does not say which ones.
What You Should Know
On a sunny, bright day a clear lens can be tiring, as it does nothing against glare. For those days Sidi offers tinted versions. We have no information on anti-fog coating, tear-off posts, roll-off use or an additional lens included, so we do not claim any of them. Sidi names no protection standard.
Colour
The photo shows a saturated, slightly orange-leaning red on the frame, glossy around the nose bridge. The strap is a deeper, woven-looking red with a dark grey Sidi logo and black adjusters. It is an easy match for red bikes or kit and stands out against grey and brown backgrounds. Red hides dried dirt better than white, though strong UV over seasons can dull it.
