DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fluorescent yellow from frame to strap, finished with a silver mirror lens: this version of the Sidi Fulmen Mirror is made to be spotted. Underneath sits a lightweight motocross goggle that Sidi puts at 135 grams, delivered with a second, clear lens so that one purchase handles sunny afternoons as well as grey mornings at the track.
It suits riders who match their eyewear to a high-vis kit, or who simply like being easy to pick out in a pack of bikes.
Key Features
- Fluo yellow frame and strap with black SIDI logo, silver mirror lens
- Weight of 135 g, as stated by Sidi
- Mirrored Cat. 2 lens (19–42% VLT) plus a clear Cat. 0 lens (80–100% VLT) in the box
- Anti-fog coating and scratch-resistant lens treatment
- FLOW CORE ventilation channels air through the frame
- Triple-layer hyper foam for cushioning, sweat absorption and a stable face seal
- Jacquard elastic strap on adjustable outriggers for helmet integration
- Reinforced frame described by Sidi as anti-intrusion; replaceable components
Lens and Light
Two lenses come in the box. The one with the mirror finish is rated Category 2, which on Sidi's own scale lets through 19 to 42 percent of visible light and takes the edge off glare when the sun is out. For overcast days, late sessions or an indoor hall you change to the clear Category 0 lens, which passes 80 to 100 percent. The surface is treated against scratches, and an anti-fog coating helps keep the view open.
Ventilation
Sidi calls its airflow concept FLOW CORE. Channels in the frame guide incoming air across the inside of the lens, which the manufacturer says reduces fogging and lets the goggle breathe when your heart rate climbs. How well that works on a slow, steamy climb depends on the day, but the system is designed for precisely those moments.
Helmet Fit
Where strap and frame meet, adjustable outriggers let the goggle track the curve of the helmet instead of being pulled flat against it. According to Sidi this evens out the tension of the jacquard elastic strap and spreads pressure around the face, so the goggle stays put over jumps and braking bumps.
Foam and Comfort
Behind the frame sits a triple-layer hyper foam. Its jobs are to cushion, to soak up sweat before it reaches your eyes and to seal the goggle against the face so dust stays outside. The low weight adds to that: less mass means less pressure on the nose after an hour of riding.
Service Life
Sidi designs several components of the Fulmen to be replaceable, with the aim of keeping the goggle in use for more than one season. The documentation does not list which parts are meant, so please ask us before you plan on spares.
What You Should Know
Sidi quotes no safety standard or CE certification for this goggle, and anti-intrusion is the manufacturer's description, not a tested rating. Tear-off pins and room for prescription glasses are not mentioned either. The mirrored Category 2 lens is not meant for dusk or darkness; swap to the clear lens before the light fades. It is a one-size goggle.
Colour
The frame is a flat, saturated fluo yellow, interrupted only by the black vent strip along the top. On the strap the same yellow carries a wide black SIDI logo, and the inner end of the band is printed with the line Made to Progress. Against so much yellow, the silver mirror lens looks cool and neutral. This is the most conspicuous colour in the range, handy for photos and for mechanics looking for you in the pits, but bright fluo shows mud stains sooner than darker tones, so rinse frame and strap after a wet day.
