DescriptionThe whole story▼
Mirror Silver is the name Shark gives this finish in its Range Book 2027, and among the five Iridium colours made for the large OXO shell it is the most neutral one: a plain, bright mirror that does not argue with the paint of your helmet or your bike. This listing covers exactly one tint, SKU VZ39031PSLVTU, under part number VZ39031P.

About this tint
An Iridium layer bounces part of the incoming light back off the outside of the visor before it reaches you. On a circuit that shows most on straights pointing into a low afternoon sun. Anyone next to you in the pit lane mostly sees their own reflection, not your eyes.
Silver is chosen for looks more than anything else. It goes with a black helmet as easily as with a white or multi-coloured one. Shark does not describe the five mirror colours as differing in how much light they hold back, so we do not either.
Road or track
Shark files Mirror Silver under racing use only in the Range Book 2027 on page 38, the same classification that covers every Iridium colour of VZ39031P. Put simply, Shark does not release this visor for the road; it is meant for closed-circuit riding.
Riding to the track on public roads therefore calls for a second visor: Shark approves the light tinted VZ39016P in TE50 for daytime use and the clear VZ39016P for all users. The silver mirror goes on in the paddock.
Fitting
Shark gives the OXO visor a central lock and a quick-release mount that needs no tools, so the change happens by hand at the helmet itself. The Pinlock housing is part of the visor, not a separate frame, and its tension can be set. A Pinlock lens for the OXO carries its own part number, VZ39005P, and is sold separately from this listing.
Which shell do I have
Shark makes the OXO in two shells and gives each its own visor size. VZ39031P is the large-shell visor. The same Mirror Silver tint exists for the small shell as VZ39030P, SKU VZ39030PSLVTU; apart from the shell it fits, nothing separates the two, but they are not interchangeable.
Bigger OXO sizes tend to use the large shell, but the exact split is not in our data; the number on your current visor removes the doubt.
Ordering by part number
Part number VZ39031P plus the tint code SLV gives the full SKU VZ39031PSLVTU. EAN 3664836892702, customs tariff 3926906000. Shark's own supplier description reads VISOR ANTISCRATCH IRIDIUM LARGE SHELL.
Care
A mirror coating is softer than the polycarbonate beneath it. Leave glass cleaner and solvents on the shelf, soften dried insects with a wet cloth for a minute before wiping, and dry with a clean microfibre towel.
