DescriptionThe whole story▼
Of all the mirrors Shark offers for the OXO, Iridium Rainbow is the one people comment on. Depending on the angle it runs through several hues at once, so a large-shell OXO wearing it looks different from every side of the paddock. What you are ordering here is that single finish: SKU VZ39031PRNWTU, part number VZ39031P.

About this tint
Rainbow is the colour-shifting version of Shark's Iridium coating. Like the single-colour mirrors, it sends part of the light back at the surface, which helps against glare off a sunlit kerb or a bleached track surface, and it hides your eyes from anyone looking in. What changes is the play of colour on the outside.
Shark gives no data suggesting the rainbow mirror holds back more or less light than silver, red, gold or blue, so the decision comes down to taste and to how it sits with your helmet graphic.
Road or track
In the Range Book 2027, page 38, Shark places the whole Iridium line of the OXO under racing use only, rainbow included. That means Shark does not approve this visor for riding on the road.
For the trip home after sunset or any road leg, the clear VZ39016P is the one Shark approves for all users. A rainbow visor and a clear one both fit a large-shell OXO, so carrying the second in the helmet bag covers the ride there and back.
Fitting
Removal is tool-free and the visor locks centrally, according to Shark. Because the Pinlock housing is built into the visor itself, a Pinlock lens you already use can move across to the rainbow visor, provided it is the OXO version, part number VZ39005P. Shark lets you adjust how firmly the lens is held.
Which shell do I have
VZ39031P fits only the large OXO shell. Shark produces the same Iridium Rainbow for the small shell under VZ39030P, SKU VZ39030PRNWTU; the tint is identical, the visor size is not.
Shark sizes the OXO visor to the shell rather than to the helmet size, so riders with larger heads who wear one of the bigger OXO sizes are the usual buyers of this part. Our data does not include the size-to-shell table, which is why the number on the old visor is the safer guide.
Ordering by part number
Order code: VZ39031P with tint RNW, giving SKU VZ39031PRNWTU. EAN 3664836892689, tariff number 3926906000. The rainbow costs the same as the other four mirrors under this number, EUR 76.50. Send us your helmet size if you want a second opinion on the shell before ordering.
Care
The colour effect lives in a thin surface layer, and scratches in it show up as dull lines across the shimmer. Rinse grit off with plenty of lukewarm water before touching the visor, soak insect residue rather than scrubbing, and skip glass cleaner or any solvent. Store it in a soft bag when it is off the helmet.
