Cheek pads decide whether a helmet feels snug or wobbles on the motorway, and Shark sizes them by thickness rather than by helmet letter. IN4055P comes in 35, 40, 45 and 50 mm, in black, at 32.93 EUR a set. Two other numbers share the English designation CHEEKS, so read on before you order.

Care
Take the pads out and wash them by hand in lukewarm water with a mild soap. Squeeze, do not wring, then let them dry at room temperature. Wringing and hot air both break down the padding faster than riding does.
Sizing
The thickness is usually printed on the old pad. Same number, same fit. Want a firmer hold? Go one step thicker. If the helmet presses on the cheekbones, go one thinner. IN8250P, also CHEEKS in black, covers 25 to 40 mm for 15.11 EUR, and IN83036P is the Alveotech V2 pad in 25 to 50 mm with the code RED for 13.67 EUR. The number on the old pad tells you which of the three yours is.
Fitting
Pull each pad out at the front edge first, where the fastener usually sits, then free the back. Tuck the new pad's rear edge under the neck roll, then press the fasteners home. Check both sides feel even before your first ride.
