DescriptionThe whole story▼
The strip running over the crown of a Skwal i3 is not decoration. It closes the top vent channel, holds the leading edge of the upper intake and takes every scrape the helmet collects when it is put down on a tank. VE0800P is the factory replacement for that cover in the small shell, and it is catalogued in eighteen finishes because Shark matches it to each decor in the range.
Key Features
- Original central top cover for the Shark Skwal i3, small shell version
- Eighteen catalogued finishes, matched to the decors the helmet is sold in, so a repair can be made invisible rather than approximate
- Closes the upper vent channel and locates the leading edge of the top intake
- Clips into the shell without adhesive, so it can be changed as a cosmetic part as well as a repair
- One of the cheapest ways to freshen a helmet that is sound but scuffed across the crown
- Plain finishes and decor-specific finishes share the number; one of the eighteen carries a different price because it belongs to a premium decor
Reading the finish code
Shark does not give these finishes colour names. It gives them internal codes, and the code is the last part of the article number on the cover already fitted to your helmet. That code is the only reliable way to order the matching part: two finishes that look similar on a screen can be a gloss and a matt of the same base, or two different metallics. Lift the old cover, read the code, order that code.
Shell size
The Skwal i3 is produced in two shell sizes. This number is the small-shell cover; the large-shell equivalent is VE0801P. The two are not interchangeable, and the larger cover will stand proud at the rear if forced onto a small shell.
Fitment
The Skwal i3 is named in the price list for other parts in this same VE08 number series, and that series is used for no other range. The model column for this particular line reads only that it is shared across ranges, which for a shell part means the decors of one helmet family rather than several helmets.
