Heritage, Design and Finish

Puig has supplied windscreens to factory WorldSBK and MotoGP teams for decades, and every lesson learned on circuit feeds directly into the R-Racer line. The profile faithfully echoes the aggressive, low-drag geometry seen on superbike grids, while the carefully considered curvature maintains optical clarity across the full face of the screen. Five finish options — from crystal clear to deep smoked and satin matte black — allow the screen to complement any livery without compromise.

Manufactured at Puig's own plant adjacent to one of Europe's most demanding circuits, each screen is cut, formed and finished to tolerances that satisfy the strict requirements of German TÜV homologation. The rounded 2 mm perimeter edge is a detail that speaks to craft as much as safety.

Aerodynamics at Racing Level

The R-Racer's shape was not arrived at by eye alone. Puig's virtual wind-tunnel process models the interaction between screen geometry, helmet profile and rider posture at speed, then refines the curve until the airstream is guided upward and outward rather than driving straight into the rider. On a fast A-road or a track day at a circuit, the result is a noticeably calmer cockpit:

Material and Construction

The R-Racer windscreen is produced from 3 mm high-impact PMMA acrylic — the same material class chosen for race screens because it combines rigidity with resistance to stone chips and UV degradation. The edges are finished to a 2 mm radius, eliminating sharp corners and ensuring safe handling during fitting. Optical clarity is held to a high standard across all tint variants, preserving forward vision even in smoked or black finishes.

Installation

Fitting mirrors the OEM screen removal process exactly and takes approximately 15 minutes. No drilling is required; the R-Racer mounts directly using the Kawasaki factory bolts already on the bike. An aerodynamic study and fitting guide are supplied with every screen.
