DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born from Puig's direct collaboration with MotoGP and WorldSBK factory teams, the R-Racer windscreen transforms the Honda CBR 600 RR PC69 into a machine that looks, feels and performs like it belongs on a starting grid. This is not a restyled stock screen — it is a race-developed aerodynamic component approved for road use under German type approval ABE-Nr. 38182.
Key Features
- MotoGP and WorldSBK race programme heritage — developed alongside top-level factory squads
- Double-bubble profile with lateral air channels diverts wind pressure away from helmet and shoulders
- Aerodynamic drag coefficient (Cx) optimised through virtual wind-tunnel development
- Approximately 55 mm taller than the standard screen for superior coverage in a full race tuck
- 3 mm impact-resistant PMMA with UV and scratch resistance for lasting optical clarity
- TÜV-compliant rounded edges under 2 mm profile — road legal with ABE-Nr. 38182, no individual registration required
- Plug-and-play fitment to OEM mounting points, installation in approximately 15 minutes
Race-Bred Aerodynamics for the Street and Track
Every curve of the R-Racer screen was shaped with one goal: to make air work for the rider rather than against them. The raised double-bubble profile channels high-speed airflow up and over the helmet, while the precisely sculpted lateral notches shed turbulent pressure from the shoulders. The result on track is a measurably more stable head position, reduced fatigue on long straights, and sharper concentration when it matters most — deep into a braking zone at 200 km/h or beyond.
On the road, those same aerodynamic advantages translate into noticeably less buffeting at motorway speeds, a calmer upper body, and greater confidence in sustained high-speed riding. Whether you are heading to a track day or covering fast mountain roads, the R-Racer earns its keep every kilometre.
Construction and Materials
Puig manufactures the R-Racer from 3 mm high-grade PMMA — the same impact-resistant acrylic used across their race-homologated screen range. The material delivers exceptional optical clarity without distortion, resists UV degradation to maintain that clarity over seasons of use, and shrugs off the surface abrasion of insects and road grit. Profile edges are rounded to under 2 mm, satisfying TÜV requirements and confirming the screen's suitability for German and European road use.
Installation
The R-Racer mounts directly to the CBR 600 RR PC69's original screen fixings — no drilling, no fabrication, no specialist tools. Puig includes a detailed fitting guide and an aerodynamic study document in every box. Most riders complete the swap in around 15 minutes. The screen sits precisely, gaps are factory-tight, and the aggressive supersport silhouette looks as though it left the factory that way.
