DescriptionThe whole story▼
Engineered for riders who demand the very best from every session, the OZ Piega R aluminium wheel set transforms the Honda CBR 1000 RR SP2 SC77 (2017–2019) through a meaningful reduction in unsprung and rotating mass. Forged in Italy with the precision OZ Racing is renowned for, the Piega R represents a refined evolution of the classic Piega design — lighter, stiffer, and purpose-built for track use.
Key Features
- Forged from high-grade aluminium for an outstanding balance of low weight and structural rigidity, reducing rotating mass compared to cast OEM wheels.
- Complete front and rear set: 3.50 x 17 front wheel and 5.50 x 17 rear wheel, both ready for immediate fitment.
- Each wheel is supplied with quality bearings, aluminium angled valves, and spacers where required — everything needed for a clean swap.
- Sprocket carrier included in the set; note that the original OEM rear sprocket is not compatible and a new sprocket must be fitted.
- Available in two anodised finishes — Techno Black and Techno Gold — both resistant to the rigours of track use.
- Handcrafted in Italy, meeting OZ Racing's exacting manufacturing standards for motorsport applications.
Performance & Construction
The Piega R is built around OZ's forged aluminium process, which produces a denser, more uniform grain structure than casting. The result is a wheel that handles the punishing forces of repeated hard braking, high-speed cornering, and aggressive acceleration without adding unnecessary weight to the rotating assembly. Reduced rotational inertia means the CBR 1000 RR SP2 responds more keenly to throttle inputs and direction changes — benefits that are felt lap after lap rather than just on paper.
The anodised finish is applied after machining, providing a surface that is integral to the metal rather than sitting on top of it. Both Techno Black and Techno Gold retain their appearance under the heat and chemical exposure typical of track environments, including tyre warmers and brake dust.
Fitment & Compatibility
This wheel set is designed specifically for the Honda CBR 1000 RR SP2 SC77 produced between 2017 and 2019. The wheels replace the original equipment items on a direct-fitment basis. Important: the OEM rear sprocket carrier is not retained — the included replacement carrier must be used, and a compatible aftermarket or OZ-specified rear sprocket is required. Always verify axle dimensions and brake disc compatibility before fitting.
