DescriptionThe whole story▼
For riders who demand every possible advantage on track, the OZ Piega R wheel set strips away unsprung and rotating mass with a precision-forged aluminium construction that goes a significant step further than the standard Piega range. Designed exclusively for circuit use, these wheels transform the handling of the Ducati Panigale 1199, 1199R and 1199S — sharper turn-in, crisper throttle response and the kind of agility that only comes from genuinely reducing what spins between you and the tarmac.
Key Features
- Precision-forged aluminium construction — lighter and stiffer than cast alternatives, with greater mass reduction than the standard OZ Piega wheel
- Reduced rotating mass improves acceleration response and cornering agility at the limits of track pace
- 5-spoke Piega R design engineered for high-speed stability and consistent handling across the entire tyre contact patch
- Complete front and rear set included: 3.50 x 17 front wheel and 6.00 x 17 rear wheel
- Supplied with quality bearings, aluminium angled valves and spacers (fitted as required), plus a sprocket carrier — note that the original Ducati rear sprocket is not compatible and a new sprocket will be required
- Direct, drop-in replacement for the standard wheels on the Ducati Panigale 1199/R/S (2012–2017)
- Made in Italy to OZ's exacting manufacturing standards for maximum durability under race conditions
Performance on Track
The Piega R is OZ's highest-specification forged aluminium wheel for the Panigale 1199 platform. By reducing rotational inertia beyond what the standard Piega achieves, the set gives the 1199's chassis a noticeably more responsive character — the engine's torque translates into forward motion faster, and direction changes feel lighter and more precise. Whether you are chasing lap times at a club day or competing in a series, the difference is tangible from the first session.
Construction and Finish
Each wheel is forged from high-grade aluminium alloy and finished to your choice of anodised techno black or anodised techno gold — both hard-wearing finishes suited to the demands of repeated track use. The complete set carries part numbers R31083507 (front) and R61476007 (rear).
Fitment and Compatibility
The OZ Piega R wheel set is engineered as a direct replacement for the factory wheels on the following motorcycles:
- Ducati Panigale 1199 (2012–2017)
- Ducati Panigale 1199R (2012–2017)
- Ducati Panigale 1199S (2012–2017)
Please note: these wheels are developed exclusively for track use and are not intended for road use. The original Ducati rear sprocket is not compatible with the supplied sprocket carrier; a suitable replacement sprocket must be fitted.
