DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born in OZ's SBK Racing division, the Piega forged aluminium wheel set delivers the kind of rotational mass reduction that transforms how the Ducati Panigale 899 steers, changes direction, and settles under braking — on road and track alike. Every pair is manufactured in Italy to the exacting quality standards that have made OZ a benchmark name in motorsport.
Key Features
- Five-spoke Piega design engineered by OZ's SBK Racing department for maximum stiffness-to-weight performance.
- Forged high-grade aluminium construction — lighter than cast alternatives, stronger under sustained track loads.
- Significant reduction in rotating unsprung mass for sharper steering response, improved agility, and greater high-speed stability.
- Complete set includes one front wheel (3.50 x 17) and one rear wheel (5.50 x 17) — direct replacements for the Panigale 899 OEM wheels.
- Supplied with quality bearings, aluminium angled valves, and spacers (fitted only where required), plus a dedicated sprocket carrier (note: the original rear sprocket is not compatible with this carrier).
- Made in Italy — OZ's hallmark of manufacturing precision, long-term reliability, and consistent finish quality.
Performance on Road and Track
Reducing the gyroscopic inertia of the wheel set makes the Panigale 899 more willing to tip into corners and more responsive when flicking between apexes — changes that feel immediate from the first ride. The five-spoke layout optimises rigidity under braking and traction loads without adding unnecessary material, keeping the wheel as light as the forging process allows. Whether the bike sees weekend canyon runs or regular circuit days, the Piega set raises the dynamic ceiling of the 899 platform in a way that chassis tuning alone cannot match.
Build Quality and Finish
OZ applies the same forging and finishing processes to these road-legal wheels as to their race-homologated products. Available in three anodised finishes — gloss black, techno black, and techno gold — each colour is applied to the forged billet before final machining, ensuring the finish is integral to the wheel rather than a surface coating that can chip or flake. The result is a wheel that looks as purposeful as it performs, and that maintains its appearance under the thermal and mechanical demands of track use.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel set is designed and validated specifically for the Ducati Panigale 899, model years 2013 to 2016. It replaces the OEM wheels on a like-for-like basis with no frame or swingarm modifications required. Important: the original Ducati rear sprocket is not compatible with the included sprocket carrier; a replacement sprocket suited to the OZ carrier must be fitted.
