Build Quality and Materials

The Piega is not a cast wheel with a racing badge — it begins life as a solid forged aluminium billet, a process that aligns the grain structure of the metal and produces a wheel that is simultaneously lighter and stronger than equivalent cast designs. OZ developed the Piega R-series exclusively within their SBK Racing department, applying the same material science and quality controls used for factory Superbike programmes. The result is a component that needs no derating for road use: it is built to endure the stresses of a racetrack and will comfortably outlast the demands of everyday riding.

The anodised surface treatment is integral to the aluminium, not a coating applied on top. This means the finish resists stone chips, brake-dust contamination and the chemical aggression of tyre sealants or road cleaning products in a way that painted surfaces cannot match.

Reducing rotational inertia at the front axle has a disproportionate effect on motorcycle dynamics.
