DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born out of WorldSBK competition and refined for the road, the OZ Gass RS-A wheel set transforms the dynamics of the Yamaha YZF-R6 (2003–2016) by slashing rotating mass where it matters most. Forged from high-grade aluminium in Italy, these wheels deliver the kind of throttle response, mid-corner agility and braking precision that define a truly race-bred upgrade.
Key Features
- Forged aluminium construction provides exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, cutting unsprung and rotating mass for sharper acceleration and braking response on track and road alike.
- Direct WorldSBK lineage — the Gass RS-A design is developed alongside OZ's motorsport programme, bringing genuine race pedigree to your R6.
- Equally at home on the circuit or the road, offering measurable improvements in agility without sacrificing street usability.
- Available in four anodised finishes: gloss black, techno black, techno gold and titanium — each a durable, corrosion-resistant surface that holds its look through hard use.
- Complete wheel set includes front and rear wheels, each pre-fitted with quality bearings, aluminium valve stems and spacers where required.
- Rear sprocket carrier included in the set — note that the original Yamaha rear sprocket is not compatible and a replacement will be required.
- Made in Italy to OZ's exacting quality standards for long-term reliability under racing and road conditions.
Race-Bred Construction
The Gass RS-A is not a cosmetic upgrade dressed in racing language — it is a purpose-engineered forged wheel. The forging process aligns the grain structure of the aluminium, producing a wheel that is stiffer and stronger than a cast equivalent at a lower overall weight. On the YZF-R6, that reduction in rotating mass translates directly into faster direction changes, reduced gyroscopic resistance through corners and a more communicative front end under trail braking.
Finish and Durability
Each wheel is anodised rather than painted, meaning the colour is integral to the surface layer of the aluminium itself. Anodising is more resistant to chipping, peeling and track-debris damage than conventional paint, and it will not be compromised by tyre mounting or brake-cleaning solvents. The four available finishes — gloss black, techno black, techno gold and titanium — each carry the same level of protection.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel set is a direct replacement for the standard Yamaha YZF-R6 wheels across the full 2003–2016 model run. No frame or swingarm modifications are required. The set includes all necessary bearings, aluminium valve stems and any required spacers. The rear sprocket carrier is included; however, the original Yamaha rear sprocket is not compatible with the OZ carrier and a compatible replacement sprocket must be sourced separately.
