Key Features
- Öhlins part number 21035-01
- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension A 51 mm
- Dimension B 67 mm
- Dimension C 1 mm
Where It Sits
This one measures 51 mm, 67 mm, 1 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Öhlins uses metric threads throughout, but the length and head form are specific to the position. Circlips hold axial position under load; a sprung one lets the assembly walk. Öhlins lists washers by thickness because it forms part of the internal stack height.
Why the Original
The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson.
How to Be Sure It Fits
Part number 21035-01 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. dimension a 51 mm, dimension b 67 mm, dimension c 1 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Öhlins specifies thread-locking compound by position; not every fastener wants it. Circlips are single-use in practice: once sprung, they no longer hold their groove reliably.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
