DescriptionThe whole story▼
Fitted to the Sherco 300 SE Racing (2022–2023), the Öhlins DMX 0306 replaces the standard unit outright. On the 300 SE Racing the rear unit does most of the work of keeping the chassis settled.
Key Features
- 137 mm of travel at the damper
- Bolts to the Sherco 300 SE Racing (2022–2023) using the standard mounting points
- Built to 480 mm installed length
Materials and Manufacture
Every unit is dyno-tested against the curve held for its part number, not sampled from a batch. Every Öhlins dealer can re-valve the unit, because the shim stack is a documented, serviceable assembly. Öhlins sets a baseline for each part number on the machine it was developed on, so it works before anything is adjusted.
The TTX Flow DV in Detail
The reservoir is mounted on the body rather than on a hose, which keeps the unit compact enough for modern MX linkages. Spring and damper are separate part numbers here: the shock is supplied without a spring so the rate can be matched to rider weight in full kit. The adjusters meter flow directly rather than bleeding it off, which is why a single click produces a change a rider can feel.
Why This Machine Needs It
At 300 cc the 300 SE Racing makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens.
Damping and Adjustment
137 mm of stroke is what the 300 SE Racing's linkage allows, and the shim stack is set for exactly that. The recommended oil is 1304; using something else changes the damping the shim stack was set for. Eye-to-eye length is 480 mm, fixed for this application. The adjuster range is usable end to end rather than only around the middle. Compression and rebound are adjusted independently, so support under load can be set without changing how fast the wheel returns.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers Öhlins part number DMX 0306 for the Sherco 300 SE Racing, 2022–2023. Öhlins lists no other machine against this number, so it is not a unit that can be adapted to a neighbouring model. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- & 06451- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock.
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the Sherco 300 SE Racing, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so the installation does not have to be your problem: we fit and set up Öhlins components in our own workshop. Ask us when you order and we will include the work.
