DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every Öhlins part number covers one machine. DMX 0306 covers the Sherco 250 SE Racing (2022–2023). Damping that fades turns a predictable 250 SE Racing into one that has to be ridden around.
Key Features
- 480 mm between mounting eyes
- Direct fitment on the Sherco 250 SE Racing (2022–2023)
- 137 mm of damper stroke
The TTX Flow DV in Detail
Compression and rebound run as separate, permanently pressurised circuits — the twin-tube principle — so neither can starve the other on a fast series of hits. Spring and damper are separate part numbers here: the shock is supplied without a spring so the rate can be matched to rider weight in full kit. Öhlins builds the TTX Flow with a 46 mm piston and an external reservoir sized for the oil volume a moto actually needs.
What This Means on the 250 SE Racing
A 250 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform.
Construction and Material Quality
Materials read unremarkably on paper — aluminium, steel, nitrogen — and the difference lies in how precisely they are made. Gas pressure is set at the factory and holds through normal service intervals. The eyelets carry spherical bearings rather than rubber bushes, so the damper is not fighting its own mounting.
How It Behaves on the Road
Öhlins quotes 137 mm of damper stroke for this fitment. Fill specification is 1304, which is part of the setting rather than a detail. Length is 480 mm and is not adjustable on this number. A single click produces a change most riders can detect, which is not true of every adjustable damper. The two adjusters do genuinely separate jobs, which is what makes methodical setup possible.
Fitment and Compatibility
What follows applies to the Sherco 250 SE Racing built 2022–2023, which is the machine DMX 0306 is listed for. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- & 06451- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock.
Road Approval
Road approval: Öhlins publishes no approval status for this combination. Rather than guess, we say so — ask us before ordering if road use matters to you.
Fitting and Setup Service
This is not a part to rush. Öhlins recommends installation by an authorised service centre, and we are an authorised Öhlins service centre — fitting, servicing and setup all happen here. Get in touch if you would like the work done with the order.
