DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every Öhlins part number covers one machine. DMX 1213 covers the KTM 150 SX (2024–2025). Damping that fades turns a predictable 150 SX into one that has to be ridden around.
Key Features
- Built for the KTM 150 SX (2024–2025); fits without modification
- 137 mm of damper stroke
- Overall length 457 mm as specified by Öhlins for this model
How Öhlins Builds It
The unit is rebuildable: seals, shims and oil are catalogue items, not a reason to buy a new one. Service parts stay available for years after a part number leaves the current price list. Shafts are hardened and surface-treated so the seal has a consistent surface to run against.
The TTX Flow DV in Detail
TTX Flow is the damper Öhlins developed after a decade of racing the earlier TTX in motocross, and the DV in the name stands for the dual-valve arrangement that gives it its character. Öhlins builds the TTX Flow with a 46 mm piston and an external reservoir sized for the oil volume a moto actually needs. Compression and rebound run as separate, permanently pressurised circuits — the twin-tube principle — so neither can starve the other on a fast series of hits.
Why This Machine Needs It
Braking bumps and jump landings load the suspension at the two extremes of its range within the same corner. A 150 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform.
Damping and Adjustment
Stroke is 137 mm, which is the travel Öhlins has to work with on this linkage. The unit measures 457 mm installed, which is the dimension the 150 SX's linkage expects. Öhlins specifies 1304 for this application, and the damping curve assumes that oil. The adjuster range is usable end to end rather than only around the middle. A single click produces a change most riders can detect, which is not true of every adjustable damper.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing covers Öhlins part number DMX 1213 for the KTM 150 SX, 2024–2025. It is model-specific rather than universal: length, stroke and valving are all set for this chassis. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock. *Replaces DMX 0213*
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the KTM 150 SX, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so the installation does not have to be your problem: we fit and set up Öhlins components in our own workshop. Ask us when you order and we will include the work.
