DescriptionThe whole story▼
DMX 0309 is the Öhlins number for the Husqvarna FE 350 as sold between 2024 and 2026. Damping that fades turns a predictable FE 350 into one that has to be ridden around.
Key Features
- Damper stroke 137 mm
- Overall length 457 mm as specified by Öhlins for this model
- Built for the Husqvarna FE 350 (2024–2026); fits without modification
Damping Performance
Öhlins builds it to 457 mm between the eyes for this chassis. 1304 is the Öhlins oil specification for this number. 137 mm is the stroke Öhlins specifies against the FE 350's ratio. Adjustment is by click rather than by feel, so a setting can be written down and returned to. Preload is set separately again, and preload is what determines static sag rather than damping.
Materials and Manufacture
The unit is rebuildable: seals, shims and oil are catalogue items, not a reason to buy a new one. Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain. Every Öhlins dealer can re-valve the unit, because the shim stack is a documented, serviceable assembly.
The TTX Flow DV in Detail
Öhlins supplies a baseline setting for each part number, established on the machine it is listed against. The DV valving separates high-speed from low-speed compression, so square-edged braking bumps and the slow squat of a corner exit can be tuned apart. The reservoir is mounted on the body rather than on a hose, which keeps the unit compact enough for modern MX linkages.
The FE 350 in Particular
Enduro machines spend hours at low speed over roots and rock before the first fast section arrives, and the suspension has to be plush there without collapsing later. At 350 cc the FE 350 makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens. Öhlins covers the 3-year production run of this generation with a single part number, which means the mounting and the linkage stayed unchanged across it.
Fitment and Compatibility
The fitment stated here is the Husqvarna FE 350 in its 2024–2026 form, under Öhlins part number DMX 0309. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock. *Replaced by DMX 1309*

Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins suspension rewards careful fitting. We recommend having the work done by an authorised Öhlins service centre — and we are one ourselves: we fit, service and set up Öhlins components in house. If you would like us to handle the installation, just ask and we will quote it with the order.
