DescriptionThe whole story▼
The GasGas EC 125 of 2025–2026 has its own Öhlins part number, and this is it: DMX 0309. Rear grip is decided by how the damper controls load transfer, not by the tyre alone.
Key Features
- Model-specific fitment for the GasGas EC 125 (2025–2026) — no modification required
- Length 457 mm, set for this chassis
- Damper stroke 137 mm
Damping and Adjustment
Öhlins specifies 1304 for this application, and the damping curve assumes that oil. Damper stroke comes to 137 mm on this number. Öhlins builds it to 457 mm between the eyes for this chassis. The adjuster range is usable end to end rather than only around the middle. A single click produces a change most riders can detect, which is not true of every adjustable damper.
About the TTX Flow DV Range
The adjusters meter flow directly rather than bleeding it off, which is why a single click produces a change a rider can feel. Compression and rebound run as separate, permanently pressurised circuits — the twin-tube principle — so neither can starve the other on a fast series of hits. The reservoir is mounted on the body rather than on a hose, which keeps the unit compact enough for modern MX linkages.
Setting It Up for the EC 125
Enduro machines spend hours at low speed over roots and rock before the first fast section arrives, and the suspension has to be plush there without collapsing later. A 125 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform.
Construction and Material Quality
Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain. The damper body is hard-anodised aluminium, which resists both corrosion and the thermal cycling a rear shock lives with. Every Öhlins dealer can re-valve the unit, because the shim stack is a documented, serviceable assembly.
Fitment and Compatibility
Part number DMX 0309 and the GasGas EC 125 (2025–2026) belong together; other model years take other numbers. It is model-specific rather than universal: length, stroke and valving are all set for this chassis. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock. *Replaced by DMX 1309*
Road Approval
