DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every Öhlins part number covers one machine. DMX 1305 covers the Beta RR 2T 300 (2020–2024). The unit it replaces was chosen when the RR 2T 300 was costed, not when it was developed.
Key Features
- Öhlins length specification: 474 mm
- Built for the Beta RR 2T 300 (2020–2024); fits without modification
- Stroke: 131 mm
Where This Sits in the Öhlins Line-up
The adjusters meter flow directly rather than bleeding it off, which is why a single click produces a change a rider can feel. The reservoir is mounted on the body rather than on a hose, which keeps the unit compact enough for modern MX linkages. The DV valving separates high-speed from low-speed compression, so square-edged braking bumps and the slow squat of a corner exit can be tuned apart.
Materials and Manufacture
Öhlins machines its own critical components instead of buying them in, and the tolerances are where the money goes. The damper body is hard-anodised aluminium, which resists both corrosion and the thermal cycling a rear shock lives with. Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain.
Damping Performance
At 474 mm it matches the standard unit's installed length exactly. Damper stroke comes to 131 mm on this number. Öhlins specifies 1304 for this application, and the damping curve assumes that oil. The adjuster range is usable end to end rather than only around the middle. Preload is set separately again, and preload is what determines static sag rather than damping.
Why This Machine Needs It
Supersport chassis are stiff and short, which leaves the suspension doing almost all the compliance work. The 2020–2024 generation kept the same chassis dimensions throughout, so one Öhlins number serves the whole run. At 300 cc the RR 2T 300 makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens.
Fitment and Compatibility
Part number DMX 1305 and the Beta RR 2T 300 (2020–2024) belong together; other model years take other numbers. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- & 06451- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock. *Replaces DMX 0305*
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the Beta RR 2T 300, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins suspension rewards careful fitting. We recommend having the work done by an authorised Öhlins service centre — and we are one ourselves: we fit, service and set up Öhlins components in house. If you would like us to handle the installation, just ask and we will quote it with the order.
