DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins DMX 1304 exists because the Beta RR 2T 125 Racing (2020–2025) needed its own settings, not a shared set. Standard rear dampers are built to a price; this one is built to a specification.
Key Features
- Damper stroke 131 mm
- Bolts to the Beta RR 2T 125 Racing (2020–2025) using the standard mounting points
- Overall length 474 mm as specified by Öhlins for this model
Materials and Manufacture
Anodising is hard-coat rather than decorative, which matters on a component exposed to road salt and stone chips. Seals are specified for temperature stability rather than for the lowest unit cost. The Öhlins part number is stamped on the unit, so its specification can be looked up years later.
Setting It Up for the RR 2T 125 Racing
At 125 cc the RR 2T 125 Racing makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens. On a supersport machine, front-end feel under braking is what the rider trusts, and damping is what provides it. Öhlins covers the 6-year production run of this generation with a single part number, which means the mounting and the linkage stayed unchanged across it.
Damping Performance
Öhlins builds it to 474 mm between the eyes for this chassis. The recommended oil is 1304; using something else changes the damping the shim stack was set for. Stroke is 131 mm, which is the travel Öhlins has to work with on this linkage. Öhlins publishes a baseline setting for each part number, which is the sensible starting point. A single click produces a change most riders can detect, which is not true of every adjustable damper.
About the TTX Flow DV Range
Spring and damper are separate part numbers here: the shock is supplied without a spring so the rate can be matched to rider weight in full kit. Because both circuits stay under pressure, the damper does not cavitate when the wheel is unloaded over a jump and slammed back down on landing. Öhlins supplies a baseline setting for each part number, established on the machine it is listed against.
Fitment and Compatibility
What follows applies to the Beta RR 2T 125 Racing built 2020–2025, which is the machine DMX 1304 is listed for. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: 06310- & 06451- spring series. Preload adjuster 15000-02 fits this shock.
Road Approval
Road approval: Öhlins publishes no approval status for this combination. Rather than guess, we say so — ask us before ordering if road use matters to you.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting matters as much as the part. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and carry out installation, servicing and setup ourselves — get in touch and we will arrange it alongside your order.
