DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins FKR Cartridge Kit Racing TTX 25 (FKR 122) is a purpose-built race fork upgrade engineered exclusively for the BMW M1000RR K66 (2021–2026). Designed to meet the exacting demands of circuit competition, this closed, spring-pressurised cartridge system delivers consistent, repeatable damping performance lap after lap — with no pressure loss and no compromise on rider safety. Note: this is a motorsport product and is not approved for use on public roads. It does not carry a German parts certificate (Teilegutachten) and must be installed by an authorised Öhlins Service Centre for optimal results.
Key Features
- Closed, spring-pressurised system eliminates pressure loss and guarantees consistent damping behaviour under sustained race conditions.
- Advanced TTX technology paired with a newly developed piston and 8 mm piston rod delivers fast, precise response and a linear damping characteristic.
- Linear damping curve enables precise, fine-grained tuning — improving traction and raising chassis stability exactly where it counts on track.
- 120 mm stroke gives the fork the travel range needed for full commitment on circuit without sacrificing feedback.
- Three spring rates included (9.0, 9.5 and 10.0 N/mm, 04744-series and 08790-series) so the kit can be dialled in for rider weight and track demands straight from the box.
- Installation guide included; for race-ready setup, Öhlins recommends fitting by an authorised Service Centre.
TTX Technology and Race-Grade Construction
The TTX (Twin Tube Cross-section) cartridge architecture is the cornerstone of Öhlins race suspension engineering. By separating the compression and rebound circuits within a pressurised closed system, TTX removes the cavitation and aeration that compromise conventional open cartridges under hard braking and aggressive direction changes. The result is a fork that maintains its calibrated character throughout a full race stint, not just the opening laps.
The newly developed piston geometry, working in concert with the 8 mm piston rod, sharpens initial response — meaning the fork reacts the moment the wheel meets a kerb or a braking bump, rather than exhibiting the brief lag that can unsettle a rider's confidence at the limit. For pilots on the BMW M1000RR K66, this translates directly into earlier, more confident braking markers and cleaner drive out of slow corners.
Tuning Flexibility and Setup
Three spring rates — 9.0, 9.5 and 10.0 N/mm — are included, drawn from the 04744-series and 08790-series Öhlins spring ranges. This selection covers a broad spread of rider weights and circuit preferences without requiring additional expenditure before the first shakedown session. Combined with the TTX damping adjusters, the FKR 122 gives a suspension engineer the tools to build a bespoke fork setup for any track configuration, from the high-speed sweepers of Monza to the technical stops of the Nürburgring GP circuit.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Öhlins FKR 122 cartridge kit is designed and validated specifically for the following fitment:
- BMW M1000RR K66 — model years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026
This is a motorsport product. It does not hold a German Teilegutachten and is not homologated for public road use. Installation by an authorised Öhlins Service Centre is strongly recommended to ensure correct setup and safety.
