DescriptionThe whole story▼
Öhlins developed FCX 2304 around the KTM 300 XC-W (2024–2026) — its weight, its linkage and its geometry. A cartridge kit changes the part of the fork that actually generates damping and leaves the rest alone.
Key Features
- Direct fitment on the KTM 300 XC-W (2024–2026)
- 298 mm of damper stroke
The TTX 22 in Detail
The TTX 22 answers that with separated compression and rebound circuits inside the fork leg, so damping stays consistent as the oil heats and the hits keep coming. The cartridge fits inside the standard fork legs; the outer tubes and clamps stay on the bike. Motocross and enduro forks take more abuse in an hour than a road fork takes in a season.
Construction and Material Quality
Service parts stay available for years after a part number leaves the current price list. The Öhlins part number is stamped on the unit, so its specification can be looked up years later. Öhlins machines its own critical components instead of buying them in, and the tolerances are where the money goes.
Damping and Adjustment
Öhlins specifies 940 mm here, so ride height stays as the factory set it. Fill specification is 1330, which is part of the setting rather than a detail. 298 mm of stroke is what the 300 XC-W's linkage allows, and the shim stack is set for exactly that. Setting front-end support under braking no longer means also changing how quickly the fork returns. The kit is re-valvable, so a suspension technician can go beyond the click range if needed.
What This Means on the 300 XC-W
A 300 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform. An enduro bike is ridden slowly far more often than quickly, and the damping that matters most is the damping at low shaft speed. The 2024–2026 generation kept the same chassis dimensions throughout, so one Öhlins number serves the whole run.
Fitment and Compatibility
Öhlins part number FCX 2304 is the correct number for the KTM 300 XC-W as built 2024–2026. Öhlins lists no other machine against this number, so it is not a unit that can be adapted to a neighbouring model. Öhlins notes for this application: Spring series 08765-XX. *Replaces FCX 1304*
