DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Husqvarna FX 450 of 2024–2025 has its own Öhlins part number, and this is it: FCX 2304. This is the least invasive way to fix an underdamped front end on the FX 450.
Key Features
- Damper stroke 298 mm
- Built for the Husqvarna FX 450 (2024–2025); fits without modification
Materials and Manufacture
Öhlins sets a baseline for each part number on the machine it was developed on, so it works before anything is adjusted. Öhlins manufactures in Upplands Väsby, north of Stockholm, and assembles and tests every unit there before it ships. Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one.
What Changes Inside the Fork
Stroke is 298 mm, which is the travel Öhlins has to work with on this linkage. Length is 940 mm and is not adjustable on this number. Öhlins specifies 1330 for this application, and the damping curve assumes that oil. The kit is re-valvable, so a suspension technician can go beyond the click range if needed. Öhlins supplies a baseline setting with the kit, established on the model it is listed for.
What This Means on the FX 450
Enduro use means long days, hot oil and terrain that changes every hundred metres. A 450 cc machine of this type sits in a specific weight band, and Öhlins picks the spring rate for that band rather than for the platform.
About the TTX 22 Range
Motocross and enduro forks take more abuse in an hour than a road fork takes in a season. Braking bumps and rutted corner entries are where a standard cartridge packs down and this one does not. The TTX 22 puts Öhlins' twin-tube damping inside the fork leg rather than in the shock.
Fitment and Compatibility
Part number FCX 2304 and the Husqvarna FX 450 (2024–2025) belong together; other model years take other numbers. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: Spring series 08765-XX. *Replaces FCX 1304*
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the Husqvarna FX 450, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
We are an authorised Öhlins service centre, so the installation does not have to be your problem: we fit and set up Öhlins components in our own workshop. Ask us when you order and we will include the work.
