DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every Öhlins part number covers one machine. FCX 2205 covers the Husqvarna FC 450 (2021–2026). Fork internals are where manufacturers save money, because nobody sees them.
Key Features
- 292 mm of travel at the damper
- Model-specific fitment for the Husqvarna FC 450 (2021–2026) — no modification required
Damping and Adjustment
292 mm is the stroke Öhlins specifies against the FC 450's ratio. 1330 is the Öhlins oil specification for this number. Installed length comes to 940 mm. Setting front-end support under braking no longer means also changing how quickly the fork returns. Compression and rebound become separately adjustable, which on most standard forks they were not.
The TTX 22 in Detail
Motocross and enduro forks take more abuse in an hour than a road fork takes in a season. The TTX 22 answers that with separated, pressurised compression and rebound circuits inside the fork leg. Compression and rebound run as separate pressurised circuits, so neither starves the other on a fast series of hits.
What This Means on the FC 450
At 450 cc the FC 450 makes enough torque to load the rear hard on corner exit, and the damper has to keep the wheel in contact while that happens. Öhlins covers the 6-year production run of this generation with a single part number, which means the mounting and the linkage stayed unchanged across it. On a motocross bike the suspension is the component that decides lap time once the rider is fit enough.
How Öhlins Builds It
Two units carrying the same part number behave the same way out of the box, which is the whole point of testing each one. Machining, anodising, assembly and testing all happen in the same building rather than across a supply chain. Seals are specified for temperature stability rather than for the lowest unit cost.
Fitment and Compatibility
What follows applies to the Husqvarna FC 450 built 2021–2026, which is the machine FCX 2205 is listed for. Nothing about it is generic — the mounting dimensions alone rule out a different model. Öhlins notes for this application: 08765- spring series *Replaces FCX 1205*
Road Approval
Road approval: Öhlins publishes no approval status for this combination. Rather than guess, we say so — ask us before ordering if road use matters to you.
Fitting and Setup Service
This is not a part to rush. Öhlins recommends installation by an authorised service centre, and we are an authorised Öhlins service centre — fitting, servicing and setup all happen here. Get in touch if you would like the work done with the order.
