DescriptionThe whole story▼
FCX 2304 is the Öhlins number for the GasGas EX 450F as sold between 2024 and 2025. This is the least invasive way to fix an underdamped front end on the EX 450F.
Key Features
- Stroke: 298 mm
- Direct fitment on the GasGas EX 450F (2024–2025)
Materials and Manufacture
Springs come with the kit and are catalogue items in their own right if a different rate is needed. Öhlins sets a baseline for each part number on the machine it was developed on, so it works before anything is adjusted. Production has stayed in Sweden since the company was founded in 1976.
Where This Sits in the Öhlins Line-up
Motocross forks work harder in one moto than a road fork does in a season, and consistency is what the twin-tube layout buys. The TTX 22 answers that with separated compression and rebound circuits inside the fork leg, so damping stays consistent as the oil heats and the hits keep coming. The TTX 22 puts Öhlins' twin-tube damping inside the fork leg rather than in the shock.
Damping and Adjustment
298 mm of stroke is what the EX 450F's linkage allows, and the shim stack is set for exactly that. Öhlins specifies 940 mm here, so ride height stays as the factory set it. Damping was developed with 1330 in the unit. Setting front-end support under braking no longer means also changing how quickly the fork returns. The kit is re-valvable, so a suspension technician can go beyond the click range if needed.
Fitment and Compatibility
What follows applies to the GasGas EX 450F built 2024–2025, which is the machine FCX 2304 is listed for. Öhlins lists no other machine against this number, so it is not a unit that can be adapted to a neighbouring model. Öhlins notes for this application: Spring series 08765-XX. *Replaces FCX 1304*
Road Approval
Road approval: unclear. There is no published German approval for this part on the GasGas EX 450F, and we would rather tell you that than imply one exists.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting matters as much as the part. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and carry out installation, servicing and setup ourselves — get in touch and we will arrange it alongside your order.
